Is powerball sandbagging the jackpot?
Or sales are just down. They sold 33 million at 167 and evidently don't expect more than a 5-9 million dollar jump this time. Sales fell harder than when MM changed it's odds but MM did not change the cash pay outs. Without detailed marketing polls it would be hard to say why sales are down so dramatically but it looks like you might have to revise your execellent probability predictions based on much lower sales.

Serious rule P4 $ Take this to the Bank
There are 10000 possible combinations of 4's using all ten (0-9) numbers, if you eliminate 4 of the numbers there are 1296 possible combinations of 4's (1296 combinations of 4's that don't have any of the four eliminated numbers). Therefore if yesterday's winning numbers had four different numbers, the odds of any of those numbers being in today's number are (10000-1296)/10000 = 8704/10000 or 87%.

New To The Board - Hi
why would you spend $500.00 on one draw? if you can afford it, do it. but thats kinda alot of money.......all you need is one to win. the only time you should spend alot of money on a draw is when the jackpot is more than the odds of winning.

PB $88.7 million cash
I'd have to agree with you on that one, dvdiva. I'd also have to say there's a good chance it will make it there, since PB's experiencing the low sales:odds ratio most in-state lotto games experience that make those games sometimes seem to roll forever.

Brits addicted to online gambling
In Great Britain it's legal to place bets on who's going to be the next US President. Does anybody over there have odds on Hillary Clinton?

next 8 pb jackpots
The goal of the recent changes was to prohibit winning too often. Too many winners impacted the bonus check, They are succeeding in their goal. They'll come up with some gimmick to get you to invest. Maybe one free ticket for several Cash 5 purchases would work for them. Spend the extra money, and based on the odds, loose on both. Yeah, that would work.

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
The powerball has rolled again. The new reported cash value is said to be 88.7 million dollars, only 4.4 million more than the last jackpot. This seems to be in error, since this would suggest that the lottery is expecting to sell only 13 million tickets after just having sales of 33.4 million.I will post the rollover odds for 33.4 million in sales, which assumes that the jackpot will sell just like the last one: 079.56%118.19%22.08%30.16%40.01% I will update this post if there is clarificatio

Easy-Win Concepts
We've seen some lotteries replacing some of their games with games that have better overall odds, and that put more of the prize pool in smaller prizes. Which one is the best though? My pick has to be the original, Match 6. Not only are there plenty of smaller prizes which are easy to win, but it also gets big jackpots. And not just any big jackpots, big CASH jackpots!

Texas Lottery jackpot game tickets in sales decline
If KY drops out, LS should probably go to 6/44. If it becomes a single-state lottery, it would be nice if they also allowed plays of 50 cents like their Cash 5. The minimum purchase would still be $ 1, and purchases would have to be in whole dollar amounts.. This would also improve the odds for people getting the lower-tier prizes. If a single 50-cent pick gets the jackpot, they could just award half the jackpot and continue to rollover the prize money.
