Powerball lottery changes go into effect Sunday
Makes no sense to me..the odds are defintely against the players and yes, they did change it to make more money!! and anyone who doesn't think so is living in la-la land. The lottery is a business and if it is a well run business, it won't lose money. By expanding the W/B by 2, we may see a 500 million jackpot..this is their goal..because people play more when the jackpot is higher and they make more money...plain and simple.

Powerball lottery changes go into effect Sunday
smd173, I had proposed 44 to 46 PB in addition to the 55 WBs for these reasons. First, PB had the 5/45+1/45 matrix where they draw a red PB out of 45 before November 1997. I wanted the odds much worse so PB can compete with Mega Millions to see which multi-state game will eventually pass the North American jackpot record of 363 million. Besides only $1 can win a jackpot.

Powerball lottery changes go into effect Sunday
Why would you want the PB matrix to go to 45 or 46? That would have made the odds alot worse than adding 2 white balls.Plus with keeping it at 42 PB, for really big jackpots, it is still manageable to buy 42 tickets covering every PB number.

Maryland Lottery to replace classic Lotto game
The competition from MegaMillions and Powerball is hurting the state lotteries. Maryland's decision to replace their high-end lotto game is mentioned. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050827/ap_on_bi_ge/lagging_lotteries With several multi-state lotteries (Powerball, Lotto South, Hot Lotto, etc.) competing head to head on the Wednesday/Saturdays slot, I wonder if there's a coming shakeout where those smaller games will fold. It'd be a shame to have nothing but games with odds of 1 in 150 million o

Do you believe you'll win a jackpot?
I'm afraid that there are a lot of non-winning disappointed people out there who are trying to win The Big One . I think if you believe in yourself and your abilities you can achieve many things, but winning the lottery isn't one of them.Winning the lottery is nothing but pure blind luck. Maybe there are some people who have a system that can increase the odds of winning by a fraction of a percent, maybe not, the jury is still out on that one.Whoever said If you can conceive it, then believe i

ga one str pair
Thanks much, Bug! I like the chances a lot, too. Since 309 hit way back when, GA combined has seen 14 different 6 ways...... but no digit 9 among this bunch:309325641683427832167475381278417074502234106 With odds favoring a mostly high number Saturday (especially if GA's next drawn number is a single )https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/118767.htm....., these look most likely with your 49 pair:549 649 749 849....Gonna be sure to include 449 and 949 in my plays, too.

Suspicious random number behavior
I think it's within the realm of random...just don't expect those three numbers again tonight. $20,000 jackpot for odds of over 200,000 to 1? You Coloradoans gotta fight for more.

Game Revivals
I say Texas Lotto goes back to a 6/54 game because their 5 numbers and a bonus ball are flopping. I think CA SLP would increase the number of white balls to 50, but keep the number of mega balls at 27 to decrease the odds of winning the jackpot.

California & Mega Millions
No way will the odds revert. Not with Powerball increasing their matrix as well. Why is it unconstitutional for California to be in a multi-state game?
