Florida woman gives away $43 million Lotto jackpot
Congratulations to the couple. They will be inundated with relatives visiting. The will also have to review security at their house, or move to try and restore some privacy.
State governments, that require winners to be publicly identified, really need to rethink that policy, before something dreadful happens.

PISSED and that is putting it mildly
They can validate the ticket without the 4 digit code AND I was guaranteed that they would pay out the prize of the ticket's if in fact they were winners. I have the email from the head of security that said they would guaranteed the ticket prize if it was a winner. he claim period ends Aug 2016 so yes I am in the time frame. I still have well over 1500 tickets I need to get paid out on this game but am waiting till June or July and I still have about 100 I need to scratch yet. But I am confiden

Giving a tip
When I win over $300.00 dollars, yeah, I'd give a tip, and it'd be anwhere from $10, $20 to $30 max - depending on whether the cashier is a nice person (if she's not, she gets nada from me) ..... under that amount, there's really no point.
BTW, I tip our Security Guards too, but I don't dish out over that $30. max. If there are two Sir Q's, everybody gets $10.00 each.

NYS Lottery commits fraud in sales of Scratch off game
Spoke to the acting head lottery security, and we were on the phone for more than 20 minutes. They really believe that the final ticket was either sold or destroyed and that there is no realistic way for it to appear. I argued. She said that there was a law suit in New Jersey Blah blah blah and that, that was way they decided to take the game off the shelves. But no matter what it is all very suspicious and I do not like the reasoning. So I did what I said I would do. I went to Florida and spent

Florida couple claims share of historic $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot
I don't know what's going on with these lawyers lately but I know from most previous large jackpot winners it was recommended to claim thru a trust and not to go public! That's regardless if the public gets your trust info or not; they won't have your picture! That is critical for security! See the Georgia lottery winner that was killed about 1-2 months ago! If people don't know what to do, you may want to check out thelotterylawyer.com I don't know if this is the best person or not but he does

Florida couple claims share of historic $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot
One can hold their breath for only so long, this concept that anonimity equates to safety and security is silly. People are at risk everyday.
At some point the truth comes out, best to build your portfolio and secure the home ( which they did) . A trust is the way to go to keep the funds in the family. Congrats and may this opportunity fulfill their community outreach programs.

Florida couple claims share of historic $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot
Thank you for the info. I was not aware the trustees are listed and all info has public access. I still would never go to the press conference.
Anyway good luck to the winners. Hope they find security and some sort of privacy.

With $63M jackpot expiring today, Calif. Lottery sued by owner of damaged ticket
The best way to avoid situations like this, is to play by subscription. More state lotteries should offer a subscription service, which would not only give security to players, but would boost sales.
Many people who don't want to line up at stores and people on vacation, would like the opportunity to participate by subscription. California doesn't offer such a service, hopefully it will in the future.

Unclaimed £33m UK Lotto winner!
I have heard of document security being encoded with magnetic ink. i doubt that all lotto tickets would be printed and know nothing about how expensive such tec might be,. if it was cheap enough, I can see it being used. If i was a lottery agency I would consider using it as a secret ID for ticket sales. Even the time and date of the ticket purchase and maybe a store code. something the joe public dont know about. i mean if a ticket goes thru the wash the magnetic signal could still be enough to

Georgia Lottery winner killed during home invasion
It's sad but I have to agree. I'll bet his attackers were either people he knew or set up to kill him by someone he was close to. This is why when I win, I'm going to stay 100% anonymous. If I donate to charity, it will be anonymous. If I have to do a press conference it will be in a clown suit complete with a wig and face mask while I alter my voice. Then 24/7 security at my new home in a different state, and I'm not telling a soul that I won the lottery. If people ask I'll say I'm just indepen
