any pools going on?
The state lotteries are jealous, because they have no internet gambling themselves and their own lottery payouts stink, so people want and seek better odds.Who rules, the people (the public) or the few elected billionaries who tell you what to do and what not to do, regardless of what the people want to do ?Are the laws made to benefit the people or the few elected billionaries ?

What is better?
I agree, better odds is my choice over humongous jackpots but all in all I'm glad we have both. It's fun to dream about hitting one of those big puppies.

What is better?
Many people have the opinion that MegaMillions is better than NY Lotto, why is that. I feel like I am missing something. Aren't NY Lotto odds better? Cheers,

Predestination of Numbers?
Bonnie:Odds are that most of us who believe in anything at all probably wouldn't disagree with the core of what you're sayingWe humans aren't a lot better at living life than we are at picking numbers, mostly, and if you can find some wisdom and help in that book on either score, I'd say power to you.Jack

What are the odds?
Todd, you are absolutely correct.I just think the odds are better to draw the same three numbers out of ten possiblies than to get the same three numbers out of 42 possible numbers. Is there a formula for this?

Powerball winner
Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it. Powerball already has a lower player:odds ratio than Mega Millions (even with MM recently increasing their matrix this is still true), yet they still have more jackpot winners.

Mega Millions Rolls On
California sales will help Mega Millions get bigger jackpots, but other states will see sales shift from time to time. The new matrix actually improves the odds of winning any prize from 1 in 43 to 1 in 40, but winning the jackpot will be 1 in 176 million instead of 1 in 136 million.

What are the odds?
Wrat,I figure the odds to be 74,087 to 1.Is it rather strange? Yes.Is it a vast conspiracy? Not likely. Are the numbers random? All possible numbers are random possibilities.Would you be happy to win with those numbers? I think so.Good luck tonight, aye'

Drawing to be held in Hollywood
Hopefully no one hits tonight. We then get to witness the legal skirmish with the California legislator kick in to a point where there's an injunction to selling tickets in California say just about when the jackpot reaches $100 million. I'd be curious to see with the increased odds and smaller amount of players where the jackpot would get to before the legal mess was settled. Or, then again the 9th circuit solves this and lets Mega sell sometickets in California after all....

mega millions and powerball jackpot poll
I don't share the enthusiasm of everyone else. Increasing the number field makes it that much MORE difficult to WIN. Why do we let ourselves agree to stack the odds further against us for an increased prize amount when that sum of money is made that much more difficult to win? Will someone please explain that to me?
