Powerball lottery to implement changesReply
They're only changing the game because so many tickets were hitting early in the year. From January through February, they had four winners, averaging ~$19.2 million. Since March, the same number of tickets won, but averaging ~$66 million.If PB would have just waited, they wouldn't have to have changed the odds on the game.But I do like the increases in payouts.

Hey when Mega Millions was The Big Game and had lower odds it was very difficult to win even a smaller tier prize. The newest incarnation of it is going to be a jackpot chaser's dream.However it will be the first change since its initial inception of Big Game later Mega Millions which has NOT occurred during a Mercury Retrograde period (those times IMHO manage to create confusion around whatever is begun during Mercury Retrograde ).

I don't believe Californians are even thinking about. It will be whatever it is when it gets here. The lottery has never been about what's fair. The interesting thing if the Jacpot isn't won, is how long it will take for a winner with the 170 million to 1 odds kick in. Just how high will it go if starts at 400M.

I play a $1 quickpick per draw. I figure that with the odds so high and that it only takes one ticket to win, so that is all that I will play. If I hit the JP, great! I can execute my plans for improving things. If not, then I agree, being able to ponder upon the hypothetical possibilities is worth a $1. Yet, I do not want to spend more than a $1, since I know I can but the extra money to much better use.

LP members have just as good of chance of winning the jackpot as anyone else. However after looking at their predictions for these games and their number of wins, I don't think they have an advantage over the general public. For example on the prediction page for 05/28/05, there were about 90 predictions for the PowerBall game and only one winning combination (1+1) for $4. The overall odds of winning something is 1:43 and I suspect that LP members average is no better even though one would mig
