state lottery games
Quote: Originally posted by Maverick on March 1, 2005Hard choice, but I'd pick Mega Millions.CORRECTION:*sigh* I'd go with NY Lotto. MM's odds are a worse turn-off than kissing a girl, and noticing she has a nosehair protruding out at you (that actually happened to my friend btw lol).Yea yea CO, I can already hear what you have to say

MEGAMillion drawing for 3/11
Quote: Originally posted by ryanm on March 10, 2005 Hah! I'm not playing either multi-state game at the moment because the Illinois Lotto is currently $24 million (of course, it has not been hit since last November 17, 2004)! As a rule, if the Illinois Lotto jackpot is large enough for me to play ($10+ million), then the multi-state jackpot has to be at least double the Lotto jackpot for me to play it as well.I feel the same way about CT Classic Lotto now. The annuitized jackpot is 1.5 times

Instant Game Prices.
Quote: Originally posted by qutgnt on March 10, 2005Id rather put 100 bucks on the Little Lotto when the payout is close to the odds then wasting even 10 bucks on mega millions.. I don't play MM anymore.

Mega Millions after CA joins
We already have all the proof we need. Its broken. move on. Powerball just isn't smart enough to fix their game. If high odds and crappy prizes are what you seek you can just go to a powerball state and play that. I just am tired of two broken games.

Mega Billions
The problem is this is too much. Too long odds, too much money for any single person. If anything like this ever happened, I'll stop any Mega game and go something smaller and saner.

To INCREASE sales REDUCE the PB Matrix
A middle game could happen by a small change to Hot Lotto. Odds of hitting Hot lotto are now 1:10.9 million. It already has pick 1-39 plus pick one of 1-19. If people want to compare sales between the two it's no contest (or it used to be no contest) when powerball had bigger jackpots it had far more sales than hot lotto.

Someone hit mega - needs a fix
I guess the question is what percentage of total combinations are covered when the low jackpots are hit, and how much have the number of combinations covered increased for the first few drawings after a jackpot is hit. The lottery probably wants to keep the percentage covered about the same as TX and CA are added. But I personally find the odds of 135 million to 1 sufficiently brutal, and might decide it's just too brutal to get a ticket unless the jackpot is over $200 million.

Mega Billions
More like mega-assinine.I doubt any game will jump over the 1:200 million mark any time soon. But that's really over the top.The highest I could ever see a game hitting is maybe close to the 300 million mark. Might work though if it's China's or India's national lottery. With over a billion potential players you would have to have high odds.

Tracking Ball Set Changes
Teufellj,I don't think so.I do think that lottery operators know the degree of tolerance in the weight of the balls in a set that will make a difference as to whether or not they yield random results. If an extremely minute difference in the weight of the balls could really make such a great difference in the odds or randomness of a draw, those people who track the machine and ballset changes should be cleaning out the coffers of every lottery that operates a ball drawn game. I haven't seen that
