CALIFORNIA JOINS MEGA MILLIONS
Thanks Todd for the compliment. My idea new matrix would be 5/60 plus 1/33. Odds would be 1:5.4 million for the pick five and 1:180 million over all. I think most players could handle that change. 200 million to one just seems like a mental barrier. Its like something priced at $1.99 versus $2. Even though its just a penny there is a reason why its a penny less.

CALIFORNIA JOINS MEGA MILLIONS
I compare it to powerball. Mega goes upto 100 but just can't break past the 300 mark. Their sales are also below powerball. And sales have been falling for jackpots at the 100 million mark. I also hope the new game doesn't break the 200 million to one mark. I think those odds would be too intimidating. I think most would handle a 1:160 - 1:185 million mark ok if the smaller prizes had better payouts.

mega millions and powerball joined as one
I like having 2 seperate lotteries. If they were both managed well then one could have a big pot when the other didn't. As it is now they both have small pots compared to their odds.

Mega Millions when CA joins
I think that they should change the odds to 5/55 and 1/55. And make the second prize $250,000. Mike

Landmark bill would ban computerized lottery drawings in Delaware
Their site shows a different figure--57%. Is your figure for a specific game? Lotteries do intentionally create an aggregate payout across all game. For example, keno will typicallly pay around 60-65% whereas a daily numbers game is usually a payout odds game around 50%. If you needed to check on the veracity of the figure on the page below, you could contact the NY State Comptroller/Auditor:http://www.nylottery.org/ny/nyStore/cgi-bin/ProdSubEV_Cat_333653_SubCat_337630_NavRoot_305.htmhttp://www.

Mega Millions lottery to introduce changes when California joins game
I will wait until I see what changes are made however if they raise the odds I think for myself I will stop playing. I win little as it is and do not play when it gets high because of the feeding frenzy and media coverage so a change in that direction will save me a few dollars. good luck to all

OhioRollingCash5...02/10/2005
In eleven of the last 50 drawings all 5 numbers had hit 3 or more times during the previous 30 drawings, in 22 of those drawings 4 numbers had done the same thing. 31 of the 39 numbers fall within these parameters today and if all 5 numbers for today's drawing follow that pattern again, the odds of winning over $400,000 are reduced from 1:575,757 to 1:169,911 by only picking numbers from that group of 31 numbers.Good luck if you play the OhioRollingCash5 game.RJOh

Mega Millions when CA joins
I don't have any stats to back it up, but my gut feeling is that the average jackpot win has been significently lower since NY TX came on board - even with the matrix change. The odds are already so far out there, that jacking them up really does make that much difference. I don't play MM or PB for the small wins, its the ideal of chasing a big jackpot that thrills me and the members of my pools. I can get more people to play when the jackpot is high, and I like having more tickets.

Mega Millions lottery to introduce changes when California joins game
I think CA demanded some changes to insure big jackpots - since New York and Texas have come on board we have not seen very many really big ones. I think it will be a matrix change to make the odds longer.

Mega Millions lottery jackpots will get bigger, quicker
The odds of record-setting jackpots in the Mega Millions lottery will improve tremendously after California joins the multistate game later this year. The nation's most-populated state will bring an influx of new players and money that promises to boost the lottery's prize pool for players in all Mega Millions states. Jackpots will grow much faster and at much higher levels, said Carole Everett at the Mega Millions lottery's headquarters in Baltimore. The lottery is drawn in Atlanta.California w
