Any tips on scratch offs
I used to play scracth offs but The vegas odds on scrach off is like an overall 30% winning percentage. If the ticket says 1:4..it means versus all of the same ticket being sold all over the state..it does not mean you will win time if u buy 4 tickets. Everytime i get the urge I go buy a powerball quick pick..

Dumb question of the day
dragon, I believe you are correct. What gets confusing is the way some lotto players express themselves. If one is not careful, one can make a grave mistake in their mental equations (such as): odds = probabilities = tickets = combinations. Each one is a different animal (so-to-speak), but all are related....which is probably responsible for the confusion . As you say, the California Lottery has 42 million different combinations. I have been examining lotteries in terms of combinations

Crunch & Wild Wheel
You are welcome, pegleg. Turning off the EEE and OOO might work in New York, but you would miss a lot of wins here in California. The states that I track show that pure evens and pure odds are fairly rare, but certainly not here in California. Out of the last 50 draws, 17 were pure numbers. But looking at Texas, for example, in the last 50 draws only 8 were pure numbers. It is interesting how different states are so very different in some of the stats.

Which method of play is better?
If most players could win what they spent, there would be no lottery because lotteries are designed to only pay out about 50% of the money spent playing them. It's a nice dream but unless you are lucky enough to win the jackpot or sometimes second prize, you will never win what you spent. You might as well decide what you can afford to lose at what odds(numbers of tickets) and go from there.RJOh

Maine Powerball sales strong
In a little less than 34 hours, Mainers gobbled up $536,191 worth of Powerball tickets to propel the state into the top three markets in the country for the game's Saturday night drawing.Pam Coutts, executive director of the Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations, said Monday that total sales for the new Powerball lottery game were actually $570,779, including tickets purchased for future drawings beyond Saturday's game. The huge response to the multimillion-dollar lottery game dis

Buckeye5 picks for 07/29/2004
Jani,I don't play very often, just when I take a break from SuperLotto and MegaMillions or I just feel lucky. Last night I played SuperLotto and the best I could do was 2 match3's(free play) in 21 lines, so since both MegaMillions and SuperLotto were won and are starting over, I decided to look at Buckeye5 again and apply the same parameters that I used for the other games to my Buckeye5 picks and see what happens, maybe I'll do better since the odds are better. The best I've ever done in Buck

Change Mega Millions?
Well I meant an increase in the secondary prizes to reflect the odds change. More money going to the players is always a good idea however it would be about as likely as having lottery winnings being tax free like in europe.By big prizes I mean close or above 300 million for powerball/megamillions style games.
