Can you beat the odds to win the Powerball jackpot?
...putting at least two miles on your odometer, your chances of being involved in a deadly crash are four times greater than your chances of winning the Powerball jackpot. I drive 34 miles a day to work... each way... monday I will march right in to my boss' office and demand hazard pay!Hey, I hear most accidents happen within 5 miles of home... should I move?Don't bug me with the odds... I'm busy benefitting older Pennsylvanians with my spare change twice a week...

Only Odd Numbers
I would'nt say it' has never happened. But as RJOh has shown, it's the least likely to happen.I play the odds based on past drawings. If it's the least likely to happen, it's also the least likely for me to play.Chas

Are these winning systems real?
I'm not against systems. In fact, I am all for people who try different methods to see if there's anything that can increase your odds. I've tried a few things myself. However I'm strongly against people who scam others by saying their system is guaranteed or automatic .

Michigan man wins $1 million lottery jackpot twice
Quote: Originally posted by rdarmand on May 21, 2004Where n is equal to the number of tickets bought, the odds of winning in the MegaMillions lottery is given by 1 - [(1 - 0.023399196957)^n]The above formula is incorrect. The number of tickets affects the probability in a linear fashion and not exponential. The correct formula is:0.000000007407 * nGood luck,Jake

Can you beat the odds to win the Powerball jackpot?
Of course he's right. Having one number is fun, you can dream, but if you buy 20 and win nothing, you really feel like that money could have been put to many other better uses. It's fun to spend a dollar and dream of your clifftop Hawaii bungalow, not as much fun lose more than that going after almost impossible odds.

Lotto Architect v2.2
Pick_4 Master, thanks for your support.BobP says If so which critical features are we still missing? . What is really missing is the ability to test the effectiveness of what you try to design. There are also other good tools to filter besides sums/odds/ranges etc.

pick 3 probability
Bertil,A pick 3 game include combinations 000-999 which is 1000 combinations. When combinations are picked randomly, there is no guarantee of coverage no matter the number of combinations picked. If the lottery sells 5000 random tickets, the odds are pretty good that all the combinations are covered, but that is not a guarantee that it actually happened. If you are going to buy 100 tickets and you want to make sure you don't play any combinations twice, you probably should pick them yourself

pick 3 probability
By what formula does one calculate the odds of winning a pick3 type game if one buys 100 random tickets? Would it be 10%?Suppose the lottery sells only 5000 random tickets, what % of all numbers are likely to remain not sold?Bertil
