Interest In Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
Doesn't the odds charts on the back of most play slips tell you that? In fact that is the ways odds are calculated, the numbers of possible out comes divided by one ticket are the odds of it happening to that ticket.

Interest In Backtesting and Simulating Lottery Systems
Could any of this testing have shown during the first month that Tennessee used a computer RNG for their pick3 drawings which was not producing any doubles or triples because of a mistake that the odds of a double or triple hit were zero and the odds of a straight or box hit with three different numbers were 1:720 and 1:120 instead of the usual 1:1000 and 1:220?
If all it does is show the odds of winning a lottery game with certain parameters are the same as those calculated and posted on the

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Jimmy, order would only be important if I was looking for straight hits. If I add the conversion mechanism to my system in order to use it with Pick 3(and maybe later Pick 4) and it produced very good results as far as box hits go, then I'm staying with it, I won't worry about straight hits. The odds of hitting a straight is 1:1000, whereas box hit odds are 1:167($80), 1:333 for doubles($160). These odds are BEFORE I pass the combo through my filters, so the potential odds could be a lot better.

MATH 5/39: Stack47, Garyo1954, RL-RANDOMLOGIC VS Jimmy4164
Don't expect to find a strict correspondence between this problem and the (5/39) problem here.
Risk/Reward.
QPs versus player picks are similar to the goat problem because it created an illusion that the odds against picking the correct door first were changed after the results of one of the other doors was known. The question in the players mind should have been, should I go with the odds and swap doors because the odds never changed or go against the odds and stick with my original gue
