Test Drawings
There was a past topic on predraws and at that time it was found states will have up to six pre and post draws for the pick 3/4. How many depends on the state. Someone, I forget who said that Texas is the only state that publishes the predraw results. Here in Md. on Comcast, on one of the video on demand channels a couple years ago, they had a short video of how they get the machines ready for the drawings. There was a security guy /auditor and two others. They went to a room outside of the l

Are any draw prerecorded ( holiday /weekend)
There was a story in the LP news a few years ago about a security person at the Indiana lottery sending a couple of his buddies to buy a roll of tickets that had a million dollars winner on it. He happen to see the location of the store that received the roll while verifying a winner in another game. His buddies weren't satisfied with their share of the winnings and turned him in.

The same would probably be true if the winner paid to claim anonymously. All the lotteries should allow the big jackpot winners a couple of days to setup some type of security and a tiny portion of the winnings to pay for it. I'm pretty sure some o

NY brothers claim $5M win from '06 lottery ticket
Two brothers kept quiet for six years about the $5 million winning lottery ticket they'd bought at their parents' store in Syracuse. Andy N. Ashkar, 34, of Camillus, and his brother, Nayel N. Ashkar, 36, of Cicero, came forward March 1 of this year to claim the $5 million top prize in the $500,000,000 Extravaganza scratch-off game, lottery officials said. That was 11 days before the prize would've expired. It's unusual, highly unusual, lottery spokeswoman Carolyn Hapeman said Tuesday o

Lotteries a threat to federal Web poker bill?
What I quoted were the words spoken by Mitt Romney at a fund raiser. How many people do you know 65 and older that are collecting the Social Security benefit they paid into and pay no taxes? Romney /Ryan are not raising taxes on SS That's nice to hear considering Ryan and the Republican House just raised the SS wage base by $3300 and raised the withholdings from 4.2% to 6.2% effective March 2012. In March 2012 6.2% and the Medicare tax rate of 1.45%, will change to 7.65% for 2012. Th
