New Powerball info available
It looks to me like they really scaled back changes to the game. I'm surprised they didn't make any changes to the lower-tier prizes, but it's probably because the odds of winning are approzimately the same. The worst thing they did is to lower the cash payout by increasing the annuity period to 30 years.

lottery post member wins little lotto!!
To Lottocheathah,That is what I did using the PowerBall game. I did not count the powerball but only the first five numbers and that was the results. Anyone who can count will get the same results and those results can be predicted by the odds which varies for different games. Repeats in the PowerBall and MegaMillion games will never happen as often as they do in 6/49's and 5/37 's games.RJOh

Mega Millions vs Ohio 6/49
Once the 30yrs annuity becomes acceptable in a few of the big lotteries, it will become the standard for most of them, after all it's a way to increase the jackpot with the same amount of money and most pool players only play when the jackpot reach a certain level. Ohio $20M jackpot with odds of 1:13,983,816 sounds good regardless of the payout. RJOh

Powerball $100 million Sat 9/14
just my opinion, but I think it's better to buy 2 or 3 tickets regardless of the jackpot amount and as V-dude says, if it's meant to be.... Buying a lot of chances just increases your costs and the odds are still improbable. I usually play two numbers per drawing, one I chose and a random pick.Rascal

MEGA MILLIONS
Yesterday I posted the $8 worth of numbers I was going to play and I matched the Bonus ball for $2. That's not a lot of money, but it does make playing the MM enjoyable. I don't expect to do better than the 1:43 odds unless I'm lucky, and I can't get lucky unless I play. Unless you enjoy gambling and can afford to lose a few dollars, you shouldn't play. Practice picking numbers, but don't play them, wait till you start picking some winners and feel lucky and then play.RJOh

Change Game??
in ga you're only given a qp--you do not pick your own numbers--it's always a pick like this y789z or g176x etc----.25 up --you can play .26 ,.45 etc--1.00 will get you 4[.25 picks] odds are extremely high--but that .25 [depending] can get you 10,000 plus

Which is better ??
I think the best way to do it is to wait until the expected payout is greater than the odds. For example, for megamillions, wait until the expected payout is greater than 135 million(jackpot should equal somewhere around 365 million) then buy a bunch of tickets.
