5 days until Powerball comes to Pennsylvania
It will be interesting to see if Powerball jackpots ever reach the levels that they have in the past -- with all the new players. I'll bet they're keeping close tabs on how Mega Millions does with its new odds / prize structure and Powerball may go through similar changes in a year or so.-Todd

5 days until Powerball comes to Pennsylvania
Powerball's 1-in-80 million odds are reasonable considering the combined population off all MUSL members (even more so when you include PA.) Super-6 has always been a questionable game; as of next week it will have outlived its usefulness.

5 days until Powerball comes to Pennsylvania
very true. super 6 will be either 3 of 4 mil at the most. super 6 will die. powerball has the better odds of winning the jackpot and grows faster. rip super 6.

LottoTexas vs Megamillions
The reason states sell so much better at lower levels is the better odds of winning. Jackpot for TX Lotto is 1 in 25,827,165, vs. 1 in 135,145,920 for Mega Millions. That's also why state lottery jackpots never reach the size of the multi-states. (Someone is much more likely to win.)State lotteries start really taking off when the jackpot is $40 or $50 million, whereas multi-states take off when it gets to $80 to $100 million.-Todd

LottoTexas vs Megamillions
I would rather not see those two states knock up their odds to something insane like MegaMillions and Powerball. TX and CA's lotteries are just fine the way they are. The only way they can grow this fast is because their sales are good, and so I'm assuming CA and TX lottery sales are good. :)

MegaMillion History
No Chi^2, F-test or any other fancy statistical methods for me, I just look at the facts. In Ohio649 there are more odd numbers to pick so more odd numbers are picked, but in the old BigGame 5/50+1/36 everything was even. Of 520 draws odds/evens for combinations was 1314/1286 and for bonus ball was 270/250. I personally prefer to play all the numbers.RJOh

BIGGAME MAGAMILLIONS HISTORY,DATA AND PICKS
Glad I could help. As I pointed out in my earlier post, by defining parameters that hopefully include the winning combinations I will pick my numbers from a smaller pool of combinations thus bettering my odds of picking a winner. RJOh

Big Game for Today
19 numbers in the combination....so what does that give you about 9,000 combinations plus you have to pick the bonus ball. so i'm figureing about 468,000 possibilities on this one. eliminate all odds and all evens / all four five number sequences. what do you suppose that would give you???

Mega Millions Lottery Pool
If you're playing once a month, you have 7 or 8 chances to try some simulations see what happens. With $200 dollars and odds of 1:43 of getting a winning ticket, the least you should expect is (5x$3) $15 of winnings. Simulate 200 random numbers, 200 numbers that don't match 3 among them or a wheel of 200 numbers during the weeks you aren't playing and pick the system that did the best. If you are manageing a pool, some of your members might have some ideas too.RJOh
