Cheatah: $31 for four numbers actually is WELL ABOVE normal!! On two occasions (since 6/59 began the week of 9/11) 4-of-6 paid just $13, and more recently $15. The overall odds of winning in Mega Millions is BETTER than in NY Lotto 6/59, with the smallest prize $2.

With a $1 payout for picking 3/6 and just $31 for 4/6 I'm surprised anyone plays this game at all! This isn't a game, it's robbery! Stick to Take 5. It's the only decent NY game.6/59 means almost impossible, yet it only pays $31 for 4 numbers. Compare that to Florida's Fantasy 5 (5/36). The odds of picking a winner are much better and 4 numbers often pays over $1,000 !!

That the nature of a lotteries. States run them to make money for the state. They take half off the top for themselves and use the rest to play off the winners. Yes there are a few people who win millions. Those folks who don't like the gambling odds shouldn't play.RJOh

Mega Millions is failing miserably. The fact that the jackpot goes up only 2 million reflects the extremely poor sales. If this game is to survive, which many doubt, majoroverhauls will have to be done. Although as yet unconfirmed,it appears that New York had a lot to do with the extreme changes in the odds and overall re-structure of the Big Gameto Mega Millions. This info was obtained from a number of lottery vendors in NY.

I played MagaMillions last night for $10 and won $2 for a gold ball match and I will play SuperLoto tonight because I like the better odds of winning the jackpot. As long as the MagaMillion jackpot is under $60M and the SuperLotoPlus jackpot is over $8M, they both are going to sell equally well. Maybe later when losing players comprehend the benefits of the 1:41 payouts of MM compared with the 1:450 payouts of SLP, MagaMillions will be a more popular game.RJOh

Indeed. I do agree with that. A 6/48 game replacing the current Ohio 6/49 would be nice.. as well as a fix to NY's absurdly impossible to win + low payout 6/59 lotto. Sure, it's not as hard to win as Mega Millions, but the jackpots start insanely low for such odds and don't pay out nearly as much as they should.

I assume you think the winner of the OhioSuperLotoPlus should take the annunity, but I personally think for the older winners, the cash option may be better. It should be noted that while the payout is better for the MagaMillion (1:43) to SuperLotoPlus (1:451), the odds of winning the SuperLotoPlus jackpot is almost 10 times better. Ohioians have many choices when choosing to play the lottery and a responsible player will know all his options before buying a ticket. RJOh
