What Powerball is suggesting..
I think so. Personally I hate screwing with the odds. Especially since Big Game's was already too high anyway (same with Powerball). 1:135million is insanity.

80 MIL avg. ???
MUSL (Powerball) is hoping nobody plays BG-MM at $10 million. But look for Powerball to toughen the odds in 2003. Remember that Pennsylvania is joining MUSL this summer, and, I'm predicting South Carolina will get Powerball because its lottery neighbor is Georgia.

minor criticism: Mega Millions
I agree on your criticism of the 2nd-tier prize. Should have been $200k - $300k. I also wonder what people who live in states with similar game names think. For example, Ohio has a lottery scratch game called Mega Millions. Massachusetts has Megabucks and Mass Millions.Maybe they should have made the odds 1 in 250 million and called the game Mega Billions .-Todd

I lost my college tuition on the bg
How did you lose it? Did you play 10,000 random numbers, wheeled 10,000 combinations or give your money to a syndicate to pick some intelligent choices for you? It takes a lot time and effort to buy that many numbers and check them for winners. With odds of 1:31 of winning something, it unlikely you didn't get something back. Your story sounds as believeable as those claiming to have won the lottery.Jack

New Official Big Game name?
I got an e-mail Tuesday mentioning Megamillions' 1 in 135 million odds. I skipped the name part because I knew that 135 million meant the 52+52 double matrix I had previously calculated, which is where I got the 135 million.

MUSL "Hot Lotto" begins Sunday
The Powerball group launches a smaller version of its game this weekend. Seven of its members will sell Hot Lotto initially- IA, MN, MT, NH, SD, WV, and Washington D.C. Jackpots for this 5/39 + 1/19 game (odds 1: ~11 million) will start at $1 million; 25 annual payments or in cash. Lower tier prizes range from $10,000 to $2 (nine ways to win as in Powerball).

OFFICIAL: New BG odds 1:135 million!!
When the odds are increased Big Game won't be getting any more of my money. Remember the old song..A fool and his money.... I think Big Game is going to lose.

OFFICIAL: New BG odds 1:135 million!!
Even if the odds were 1:135 million, a jackpot of $500 mil. would sell so many tickets that most of the combinations will be covered.-ToddExactly! A 500 MIL Jackpot would cover most of the possible number combo's .... ans sell so many tickets .... that the Jackpot would end up much bigger than 500 MIL. This is would be unchartered waters ... and the lottery officials are conservative on their jackpot projections.Rob

OFFICIAL: New BG odds 1:135 million!!
I'm not sure the jackpots will get much larger than $500 million or so. Consider when the jackpot was a record $363 million. There was something like 90% of all possible combinations covered. Even if the odds were 1:135 million, a jackpot of $500 mil. would sell so many tickets that most of the combinations will be covered.-Todd

Buckeye5-Ohio
I play Buckeye5 when the other jackpots are low, but matching 4 or 5 numbers is harder than during the same thing in SuperLotoPlus, but they pay more. With those kinds of odds you probably would have to invest as you do for the larger jackpots. When I play I usually play 8 sets of numbers. I almost always get a $1 win, occasionally I get a three and it been over a year since I match 4. Good luck to you.RJOh
