$70 million dollar PB winner from wealthy Hartsdale, NY :-)
That's very definitely useful information for security purposes. NY also prints the exact time of sale (to the second) on the ticket, along with a simple number identifying the retailer. If somebody finds or steals your winning ticket for one of NY's online games they'll know when it was bought, and with some effort they can probably know where it was bought. The NY legislature is notorious for being dysfunctional. Maybe somebody making decisions at NY lottery HQ is the less-than-qualified ne

Being concerned for the security of yourself and your family is not being paranoid! I had one of Barry Sorento's minions tell me that he had the right to come to my house and Take what I want ! And I live in my $35,000 starter house ........... not exactly living like the 1%

Hot Lotto trust representative won't name winner
If Lottery IOWA requires that it identifies the winner hiding behind the trust, then it will take all the measures to do so. Quite rightly. Just handing over a ticket by a bunch of lawyers with the trust deed claiming to represent as trustees the beneficiaries, will not suffice to comply with the Lottery rules of Iowa! After all what is this problem of the winner who refuses to be identified even in private with Iowa lottery ? Many people do it for own security - but in private to satisfy the IO

Iowa Lottery security chief to grill NY lawyer over Hot Lotto ticket
I can't help but feel that this Security Chief has a little bit of an ego problem. I'm waiting for him to make the rounds on the talk show circuit and announce he's writing a book about the case .

Iowa Lottery security chief bent on determining identity of jackpot winner
Actually, I believe all people used to mind their own business up until about the 1970's, it didn't matter what affiliation one had with anything.....................Too much free time for progressives and a lazy electorate that votes on appearance and not substance. So you get fuquefaces like this security jerk with too much free time on the job so he figures he is going to do this and make it look like he's working SOOOO REALLLLL hard. What a pile of BS. If I was in charge of the Iowa lotte

Iowa $16.5M Hot Lotto winner claims prize with two hours to spare
Why would additional security be needed because of the late claim period? Could be one of the people making an earlier claim had a plausible explanation for why they didn't have the ticket that couldn't be checked until the winning ticket showed up.

Illinois Lottery hopes to sell tickets online in '3 to 4 months'
Well said, Boney526. Welfare agencies must have welfare people to administer to so it's a weird way of job security....kind of like the adage about a chicken is an egg's way of making another egg. Another definition of a conservative is simply a liberal who's been mugged!

Do the lottery people have a general idea of where the juicy scratch offs are?
I read that same story, the security guard accidentally got a peak at one of the lists used to confirm winning tickets which had the roll numbers of the winning ticket and then he checked another list that had the name of the retailer that received that roll. Normally he wouldn't have access to both lists. He told two of his friends about it and they traveled to the retailer and bought the whole roll of tickets. He was planning to retire with his share of the winnings and didn't think a 3-way sp
