The odds are the same regardless of the jackpot. Waiting 'til the jackpot exceeds the odds assumes a solo hit, for one thing. If you did hit and split with even just one other person, the jackpot is halved, so much for the jackpot exceeding the odds.

The first one, about pick-3 sums, has some truth to it, but isn't quite accurate. Some sums are more likely than others. Consider that there's only one way to get a sum of 0 or to get a sum of 27. The odds of either of those is 1:1,000, the same as the odds of a straight match, since only one combination will produce either of those sums.
Only 000 produces a sum of 0. Only 999 produces a sum of 27. Three combinations produce a sum of 1 (001 010 100) or 26 (998 989 899). Sums toward the middle

Anyone play craps?
Todd,
In your earlier post you mentionsed collecting the payoffs on a 7-out while eveybody else was losing their bets, and you said laying odds on the come bets. If you bet on the number and bet odds you are taking odds, not laying them.
When you take odds you make a bet to get paid more than the bet depending on the nnumber, when you lay odds the payoff is less than the bet, depending on the number.
Behind the number literally means behnd the number, don't come bets go behind the numb

How Do You Calculate these Odds?
Can someone tell me what the odds for this are and how did you calculate it:
Lotto Max is a Canadian lottery game. It is a 7/49 game. For $5, you get three lines. So the odds of winning the jackpot, per ticket are 1-in-28,633,528.
For the February 26 draw, the jackpot is $50 million. In addition to the jackpot draw, there will be 9 additional unique bonus draws (Called Maxmillions), with each draw being a $1 million prize.
The odds for each of the draws are the same, 1-in-28,633,528, pe
