The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
The Florida Lottery did their weekly sales update of 330394 at end-of-sales for yesterday. Since I got my ticket at beginning of sales, it looks like total sales on Thursday were less than 2,000.

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Bought ticket 3284xx around 10:00 this morning. So after 109 days of sales (I didn't include today, as I bought my ticket about an hour after Raffle sales came online) the daily sales average is around 3013. That extrapolates to a potential of 367,000 in total sales.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
I'm sure the jackpot frenzy will adjust it a bit but it will be interesting to see how it plays out!
I'm pretty sure that even the people at PB aren't all that sure exactly how things could go. Right now they're forecasting a $100 million increase, but since last night finished at 1.03 billion that means their first estimate for Monday is really 1.13. Those Friday worksheets are created about a day and a half before the drawing, but if they ever announced the next jackpot with different num

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
It appears many do not understand the jackpot has only been growing by the minimum $10 million per draw in order for sales to fully support the jackpot.
For a place that's all about the lottery a lot of people here don't seem to know much about how things work.
The jackpot for the Friday, August 1 draw will probably be around $140 million and will be fully supported by sales (or very close at least).
It will be $140, and the supported jackpot is $139,672,438 (I love how the estimat

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Wanted to update/correct my previous figures, as for some reason I thought there were only three interim prize periods, and there are actually four. Bottom line, 640,900 tickets need to be sold to fund all prizes to be awarded in the Raffle (interim prizes and Grand Prizes.) The duration of the raffle is 122 days, so sales need to average 5,245 tix a day. Based on the Lottery's figure of 169,906 tix sold as of 4/17 , sales are averaging 3,540 tix/day so far. Hard to say if sales will pick up or

Colorado Lottery approves credit card purchases and online ticket sales
Skeptical legislators threaten to undo rule changes
By Kate Northrop
Colorado lottery players will soon be able to purchase lottery tickets online and pay for tickets using credit cards after the Colorado Lottery approved rule changes in a commission meeting this week.
On Wednesday, the Colorado Lottery approved rule changes that will allow players to purchase lottery tickets online and use a credit card despite some state legislators expressing concern.
Retailer advocates also s

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
They didn't come up short. They just didn't get to skim the full 50% they normally would have. Total sales for the run were a hair over $117 million. Of the $58.5 million that goes to prizes just over 44.7% is for lower tier prizes, so they'd need about $26.2 million for the smaller prizes. Add in the cash value of $41.9 million and the total prize payout is about $68.1 million. That leaves them $48.9 million instead of the $58.5 million target.
Of course the lottery is playing the long game

$1.3 BILLION: Powerball jackpot soars to 5th-largest in game history
I simply load the last cash value, and subtract the previous cash value (generally off the Texas Lottery site) and use the cash/sales ratio to estimate sales .
And in this case you got garbage out because you put garbage in as a result of data that wasn't updated. In this case it looks like you used the $498.4 million cash value for the originally announced $1.1 billion jackpot. The actual cash value at drawing time was about $46 million higher, so they needed almost 70 million fewer ticket

$1.7 BILLION: Will Powerball create a Christmas billionaire?
Wow, no bumps in the jackpot anymore these days. Looks like no one cares about Powerball anymore
Sales are slower than they used to be, but enough people care to buy about 125 million tickets for tonight's drawing, based on the latest sales estimate.
What do you think the final jackpot will reach tonight? Will it not make the estimation, will it exceed the estimation or will it pretty much hit the mark?
The worksheet posted on Monday estimated the funded annuity at just a hair shy

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Lottery sales for the big national games are down. This is probably the main reason the Mega Millions game was recently changed.
Even on my worst days I'm not nearly stupid enough to think they wouldn't have tried messing with the game even if sales were still what they were 3 to 5 years ago, but the change was definitely an attempt to increase sales.
So far the sales per drawing have been consistently higher than shortly before the change for the jackpots values we've seen, and sales f
