The reason for this unusual # of winners is not the layout of the slip but the winning numbers being straight down on some of those arrangements. And since each drawing is independent of the others with each combination having the exact same probability, any pattern, if it's been shared by multiple states has the potential for a similar scenario.

Yes, it seems like as these billion dollar jackpots become more frequent, people start to forget which state won the jackpot. This seems to be more true if an unusual state wins like Arkansas. A lot of naysayers are always griping when California wins a lot, not knowing that state, has more lottery vending machines in more places than any other state in the US.

Good play on the pick 10 except I see your one huge mistake ,number seven had to be played since it was out that long. That's very unusual for a Pick 10 number. It had to pop any day otherwise you nailed five out of the six repeat numbers across the top of my paper you could see every day how many repeat numbers come out of the 20 numbers drawn, a couple days a week ago we had seven numbers repeat

Why do so many in CA win powerball?Reply
Besides CA having about 1/8 of the US population, all jackpot wins are statistically unusual and there aren't enough of them expec that the number of winners per state should match what probability suggests. Thinking that CA has had an unusually high number of PB winners is like flipping a coin only 10 times and thinking that the results have to be really close to 50/50.

Outrage! Oklahoma holds digit 3 out for 20 daysReply
I used to keep track of Virginia's 3-ball fairly religiously, and there was always a three-digit combo that hadn't won in exact order in at least 6,000 drawings. Divide 6000 by 100, and you get 60, which is the number of non-shows by the number 3 in the Oklahoma Lottery (20 Pick-3 drawings). So, I do not find the number 3 not showing up for twenty drawings unusual.

My own state has been using this tactic Ohio holds out favored tracks , we just got 111 and 000 the unusual high repeats are indicating triples or false trips for sure GL .
