Illinois Lotto Extra Shot Payouts
Illinois lotto now has an added $1 option, Extra Shot. A seventh ball is drawn and if you have the right number (it's always a QP) it adds to the prizes. This is what is a little odd, with the Extra Shot 1 number + the Extra Shot pays $2 but no numbers and the Extra Shot pays $5. The odds of getting 1 + the Extra Shot are 1:62, pays $2 The odds of getting 0 + the Extra Shot are 1:54, pays $5 Purely a gimmick?

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Your silly argument about thosands of groups of numbers matching multiple drawings holds no bearing over the odds. It's really not complicated math. What is the possible amount of numbers (excluding the bonus number) in five MM drawings? If the answer is 25, over 19,000 groups of 28 numbers will match five numbers in five consecutive drawings. I know Jimmy has an effect on some of our members, but even our village idiot knows it's a statistical fact. What you're explaining is basical

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Nope I'm fine. I'm actually plenty positive. I believe I can do plenty of things within the realm of reality. I don't think I can do impossible things, such as bettering the odds in the lottery or flying. If that makes me troubled according to you so be it. I'll say it again, I can't change reality and do things that are impossible. I don't see how that makes me troubled, in fact, I'd think it makes you troubled, that you believe reality will bend to your irrational thoughts.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
You seem not to understand that probability theory isn't simply it will happen x out of y times. It's closer to it should happen X our of Y times with Z standard deviation. And therefore, anything is possible, but certain things are more probable. Of course you can go back and find a froup of 28 numbers which won the last 7 drawings. I'm willing to bet you can't list 28 numbers which win the NEXT 7 drawings. There's no such thing as blowing away the odds because every single possible eve

Quick Picks verus Self Picks
I agree with you RJOh that all self picks are not created equal. I think that picking birthdays/anniversaries/ages and so forth are little better than QP's. The best way to improve your odds is to study the game and look for patterns. For example I'm currently playing Hot Lotto which is a 5/39 (19) game with a current JP of 7M. Looking at the number patterns like I have been all year there are identifiable tendencies that can be taken advantage of. A few things about the game I have learned:

Did the couple even consider calling a lawyer??
There is no difference if you claim the day after the drawing if you can't be anonymous. Like I wrote, it takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the money to be made available to you. You can make plans, talk to lawyers and get everything in order during the 4 to 6 weeks. What difference would it make if you get your phone turned off before your name has been released to the newspapers or after? Start the claims process in the morning and call the phone company to cancel your phone in the afternoon. No

Post your scratch ticket results
Hey man - sorry you struck out WILD7's - I know you like rolls and I don't - I posted a couple WILD7's $100 wins - I like buying maybe 5 to 10 from a couple different bins - for me that works the best. Again - it's all LUCK !!! Someone who never plays - 20 miles from you might buy 4 Wild7's and get top prize. You got me interested in $5 games - looks like all of them that pay $10K have the same odds - 1 in 120,000. I ckecked the $20 ticks - the only one that pay $10K with 1 in 120,000 odd is

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Wheel: Pick 5 Key 4 if 4 of 12 Tickets: 47 Description: Minimum 4-number match, if 4 numbers drawn fall within your set of 12 numbers. Input: 39, 17, 6, 10, 15, 40, 31, 36, 50, 41, 38, 20 Its easy to see that I only hit 1 of 5 on my 4 if 4 of 12 wheel..... BUT I was choosing from a group of 28 that contained 4 of the winning numbers so my overall odds of getting 4 of 4 were 1 in 98,280....................... Much BETTER ODDS than 1 in 3.8 million...... all day long......

Do people have more luck just buying one scratch ticket at a time as opposed to buying 2 or more?
I said you *can* be at a disadvantage buying just 1 ticket if there are a lot of win chasers and ticket hawks at that store. Unfortunately, those tactics can work,(especially for sneaky store clerks) but not in guaranteeing a win, just minimizing losses. I should clarify that 4 to 8 tickets (odds or double odds) to say that you should buy that many if needed, but stop when you get a win. Single hits are more than twice as common as sequential hits, so most likely the next ticket after a wi

Why do people give away their lottery system?
Here is another way to look at it LottoPerro, A blog was created here at LP a while back called One in 1000 where 175,000 MM lines were played on every single draw to simulate One in 1000 odds........ The odd part about the short lived blog is that it never even hit second prize (5 of 5) not even once. My predictions (using 98.280 lines) produced four 5 of 5 hits in 18 draws and one of them was a 5+1. Now, if you want to stand by your opinion thats fine. But if you are going to insi
