NY Scratch-off Discussion
then i really must ask why you choose scratch offs to chase that kind of prize, it makes no sense. your better off BY FAR going to a atlantic city blackjack table or even slot machine and trying for a 1k-5k win. the odds on blackjack using basic strategy gives the house only a 2% edge , the slots are only a 5-10% edge ..
meaning on both games you have better odds to come out ahead.
on scratch offs, by law (except 2 states) they only return 65% of whats taken in. you know that half of

Are you sure about that?
Let's go to the source, with a quote from the Challenge:
But no one plays 200,000 rounds!
Some folks have said the challenge is unfair because a system could win in the short term, even if it can't last 200,000 rounds. They're missing two things. First, I'm offering a whopping 10 to 1 odds. With such generous odds, even a system with a lousy 11% chance of beating the challenge is a good bet for the challenger (and a bad bet for me and my $30,000). Their system

Saved my change for the entire school year...
Being in Ohio makes a big difference.
You can play both multi-state games PB and MM locally.
You can also play locally a Pick5 game RC5 with odds of 1/575K and a minimum jackpot of $100K
You can also play locally a Pick6 game OCL with odds of 1/14M and a jackpot of $31M+
You got a many choices locally as you would anywhere else in the country.
Good luck.
P.S. Don't bother with Classic Lotto cause I'm planning on winning that one myself.

Keep in mind Boney that reducing those combinations is the heart of reduction modeling..
Consider this as an example : if you play two pairs this would equal only 15 unmatched combinations however the KEY is getting all three digits for the winning combination
Right?
So, you increase your chance of winning by including all the digits from 0-9 in the selection process to heighten the odds. In playing pick 3 the central idea is to stay ahead of the curve throughout the betting process so

fixed
First, there's absolutely no evidence that it was done intentionally, which means it was a just a flaw.
About 10 days into the no doubles anywhere run, one of the LP's Tennessee players emailed the TN Lottery about it. My claim of a fix was based on the response given by the TN Lottery and posted on LP. Basically it said the RNG had been tested several times and in fact double numbers had been drawn during the tests.
When the TN Lottery finally admitted the flaw in their system, that exp

What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
Guru101,
I like your original motivation better. In the [000-999] games the order IS significant AND the 3 separate machines involved allow [0-9] to repeat up to 3 times. Your 3/30 game will result in precisely the same odds as the other if you set it up as follows:
-- In your machine place 3 zeros, 3 ones, , , , , , , , and 3 nines.
-- After EACH of the first 2 Draws, place the balls drawn back into the machine.
This way, the ODDS in your game will be:
(3/30) * (3/30) * (3/30) ==

If you had 10 bucks to bet...
RJOh,
I think I know what might be keeping you from following Doug's logic. When you think of betting on 10 Draws, 1 Ticket each, you probably subconciously think of time, that the scenario will take 10 days to complete. On the other hand, when you think of purchasing 10 Tickets for 1 Draw, your mind sees it happening in 1 day. This can be confusing when trying to equate the two scenarios.
To make things simpler, because of parimutel complications, let's assume you buy ten unique Tickets f

How the 42 and 45 hit on the March 11, megamillion??
mdmegamilplyr: The site is hopefully here for entertainment value. Taking it seriously implies a person takes lotteries seriously. Taking lotteries seriously isn't an indicator of mental health.
I take them seriously, but I don't play them and I'm definitely not mentally healthy.

Playing the Extra Dollar on the Jackpot Games
nice to read your history. i dont get power play here, but im willing to voice an opinion.
what are the odds of winning any prize?
isnt it something like 1 in 4 or 5? so the odds that an power play will return nothing is the opposite of that.
ie 3 in 4 or 4 in 5.
im not a big fan of power plays as i see them as almost always losing, just likeregular ticvkets almost always lose.
just my opionion, and personally i would go for the extra chance at the jackpot , not the 1 mill if

Gail Howard's Charts, how to reference?
Usually i use a lotto generator and then apply filters. In my case am trying my luck on a pick 5/42.
odd/even .... 3/2 2/3 only
high/low ... 3/2 and 2/3 only
triple consecutives i eliminate them too.
and then go for the sum factor. From 800 k combinations the odds drop drammatically. Of there is always an element of luck as a combination can move out of the range to all odds or evens etc but its not that common.
Till now unluckily did not have that much luck.Always ge
