Has a Lottery Clerk Ever Attempted to Rip You Off?
We hear about these types of rip-offs all the time in California. One clerk at a convenience store nearly got away with cashing a man's $500,000.00 Mega Millions ticket. He didn't sign it, and the clerk told him it was only a $2.00 winner! She tried to redeem the ticket a week later. Luckily, the store security tapes, along with the lottery computer records showed the woman hiding the winning ticket at the time it was checked. She's now in jail, and the man got his money.

Election Day 2010 Poll
psykomo, do you feel there are discernible differences between Republicans and Democrats? What republican (in office...) is going to work to repeal Roe vs Wade ? I'm sure you watched along with the rest of us our own President Bush extending an olive branch (or was it a cannabis stalk?) to illegal aliens? Social Security is alive and well. Welfare, though sharply reduced in benefit amounts, is as prevalent under a Republican elephant as it is under a Democratic...ass. There appears to be a negli

Lover found lottery winner's body
rdgrnr, you should read the stories of people who attained quick wealth, then committed suicide, or became poor again due to their inability to properly invest and save their fortunes. The singer for Nirvana is a good example. He had money, fame, good looks, a beautiful wife, a mansion and a brand new baby. Still, he ended a very promising life. A lottery winner in Texas took his own life, after he found his friends and family were soaking him dry. A woman in Pennsylvania won TWO Lotto jackpots

Once a victim, retiree allegedly joined scammers to bilk others
That's the truth RJOh!!!!! He could have done numerous other things like teaching, tutoring, as a retired school principal, teacher and coach, you know he had a nice pension and social security. It doesn't pay to be greedy, I bet he wishes he could turn back the hands of time and just be satisfied with the money he earned and never messed with the lottery scam. Once he lost his money he just should have cut his losses and moved on, instead he has lost his freedom, his health due to the stress an

Calif. lottery winners try to remain as anonymous as possible
Daveyl said: You ARE required to furnish your name, address, social security number, driver's license (or other ID) and sign a statement that verifies your documents are genuine. So what you're saying is, a blind trust is not an option. I was hoping it would be.

Calif. lottery winners try to remain as anonymous as possible
JWBlue, lottery interviewers give winners the option to have their names published on the lottery website. When my sister-in-law was interviewed (She won the Fantasy 5 Jackpot, $122,000.00) I was there as an interpreter. It was quite emotional for her, but she remembered what I told her about keeping a low profile, and declined to have her story published. You ARE required to furnish your name, address, social security number, driver's license (or other ID) and sign a statement that verifies you

Canada lottery winner robbed, beaten
Here are some tips to avoid such situations: Do Not claim your Prize right after the Winning Ticket is known: it is very tempting to go and collect your winnings, but you are better off waiting for a while (maybe a few months) Do Not be too vocal about your Win: You don't want the attention! ..because it is mostly the wrong kind of attention.. After collecting the Prize, deposit the money in a new Bank Account: Do Not keep the cash at home, or you'd be asking for trouble.. If it's a
