Neb. lottery numbers drawn twice in row
The odds are against something this odd. A Nebraska Lottery official says the winning numbers for the state's Pick 3 lottery on Tuesday were exactly the same as the winning combination from the night before. Lottery spokesman Brian Rockey says one of two lottery computers that randomly generate combinations picked the numbers 1, 9 and 6 in that order for Monday night's drawing. He says the other computer picked the same three numbers Tuesday in the same sequence. The odds of such an occ

I am physic but not a magician!
Hey, The thing about casinos is they are highly regulated. Casinos have to have an exact payout on their slots for example. They don't care, it's just a numbers game to them. The more they are played the more they make. It's somewhere around 3% profit if I remember right on the slots. Most table games are real close to even in the odds, but when you enter the human factor of greed and stupidity, the casinos come out way ahead. Lottery odds are terrible, that's why I make money

How to calculate odds
Totally excellent explanation! My suggestion would be to play games that have been out for a while yet still have many of the jackpot tickets available. If a game that offers say 10 $1million dollar prizes has been out for 6 months and only two or three of those top prizes are gone, I am playing that game. Also, if a similar game has been out for nearly two years and has only one or two top prizes left, I surmise then that game must be nearing its end and those last jackpot tix are soon to be

If they charge $3/ticket wouldnt it be the end of mankind as we know it
the odds, cost per ticket and potential prize are already terribly stringent and all relate to each other. I do not fear that the cost per ticket will afford to go any higher. Not in the U.S. If anything, the payouts need to increase a little, by about 50%. Other countries can wager for a much lower cost and even for as much as 80% higher payouts and still make decent profits. In Virginia, my understanding is that lottery sales are down and that is only natural, given the awful o

The winning numbers for the Delaware Lottery's third annual Raffle game were selected in a special drawing today. The winning number for the $250,000 grand prize is 00012370. They are Increasing the PB Odds Again, How Lame
A game can always be made whereby a simple pick 6 with lower odds (such as 6/42) plays ONLY when its jackpot is over $20 million. This way the people aren't punished by making their terrible odds worse. The only thing is that there may be as many as 5 or 10 winners sometimes, but that would be just wonderful these days. I would rather see 5 winners than NO winners. This is another suggestion that you can all email your political representatives. They are the law-makers. To

Part of me wants to win. Part of me doesn't.
I agree with DC81 100% I truly don't feel like I'd change too much. The bad thing is I don't trust people even now, so that won't change. I don't party, drink do drugs or any of that stuff that can tempt people with lotto wins. I want to win for the same reasons you say and I never wished I don't win. I (we) have just as much right to win as anyone else. My life has gone crappy all my life and ive had to struggle for everything. (just like most Americans i guess) And i can't wait until 200
