Going, Going, Not Gone!
I had seven tix for the Millionaire raffle in FLA. I didn't get the big prize, but $500 at least covers ticket cost, gas and my time. I'll take it!

Pennsylvania Mega Millions lottery sales falling short of target
Is it so hard to come up with a game so many people can win a little bit of money instead of one person winning so much money they can even spend in lifetime.geez.....Why would 1 person need 200 millions dollars....Thats why I dont play,it's kinda like stupid to throw away money.......we need a country raffle to play each week...then each state can have whats left after the draw...If each state is hurting because of sales...just a good idea to me......

Question about PB/MM Quick Pick Strategy
Although I would agree with that definition, there are the scratch-off lotteries where once a ticket is purchased, it's no longer available to others for purchase yet it's called a lottery and not a raffle.

If you were able to design your own lottery game...
I would do something like the El Gordo lottery - Big prizes and guaranteed winners via a raffle. I know a lot of lotteries do rafles, but it's usually a once-a-year thing. It should be every week. We'll call it PowerRaffle or MegaRaffle.

5/39 and $100! Ideas??
Thanks (for the good luck) and thanks for the heads up on the IL raffle. I took the time to read about it at the lottery website and I think I'll get in on this too.

Gotta love the Michigan Lotto!! LOLOLOL.
Well, raffles have the best odds of winning the top prize, but generally have terrible odds at winning any prize. Though Michigan's raffle is one of the better ones at overall odds at 1:99.7 (as opposed to say, 1 in 1,000). But even then, with 50 tickets, you're still looking at roughly 50/50 odds at getting anything back. So the best odds argument the lotteries use really is a misnomer, because it's only good when looking at the top prize odds in comparison to other games.

Poll: Powerball and state Pick 6
I think powerball could possibly hurt the classic lotto 47 as well as keno and maybe some scratch offs. fantasy 5 and the 3 and 4 draws are highly popular. right now the raffle is struggling it's been pushed up once already, i was hoping to be rich this wednesday, but i think it will be pushed to feb. I really think powerball is going to take off like a rocket here.
