A dollar and a dream true for PB and MM?
You're odds are not cut in half for every ticket you buy. It's fractions.
5 in 146,107,962 is the same as 1 in 29,221,592.4
100 in 146,107,962 is the same as 1 in 1,461,079.62
1,000 in 146,107,962 is the same as 1 in 146,107.962

You can call that painting a more optimistic picture if you want, but that's the way it is. Even if you spend $1,000,000, your odds are still 1

jackpot games vs. the numbers games
I mostly play the p-3 games. Once in a while I'll play fantasy 5, but that's about it.
The JP odds are just way to rediculous. To hit the lotto here in Florida, is about 23 million to one.
A lightning strike hit is about 7 million to one. And this is the lightning capital of the world.
So 3 different lightning strikes would have to simultaneously hit me to have the equivalent chance of winning the lotto.
I have enough problems beating a thousand to one playing for a straight in the

POLL: Is this a Quick Pick or not?
Just relying on probability will almost certainly keep the lotteries safe.
If you flip a coin 10 times your sample is small enough that you could easily have a significant departure from the expected split of 50% heads and 50% tails. When you sell millions of tickets for a game with odds of 1 in 3 to 4 million for the 2nd place prize the probability of random results departing significantly are very small. When there are a lot of 2nd place winners it's generally because ticket sales were

happy trip 7's day
I've been wondering how many people in Indiana will waste their money on those numbers. The Hoosier Lottery will likely post record sales for their daily games today but, naturally, they'll pay out virtually nothing.
Two years ago, I spoke with a math professor at Indiana University. I asked him what the odds were that our 6/48 lotto game would reach a level of $28 million, given the following parameters:
1). The jackpot does not begin to roll over until after the third consecuti

Did you know in PB/MM ...
There are things to look at that are not so obvious when it comes to elimination. A lot of times, the factors that play a roll in my algorithms do what they were made to do when the winning numbers come out. It's just a matter of getting just the right one. Let me give you an example.
Lottery A: This game is EXACTLY like PowerBall. You choose 5 numbers from 1-55, and 1 number from 1-42. Therefore, the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 : 146,107,962.
Lottery B: This game only has 1 pri

KY Floyd, Badger
That's what I was thinking. Let's say that someone she counsels bumps into a lottery player and her 2.5 billion to one odds come up. The lottery player tells the person, Look, she doesn't know what she's talking about and then shows them the back of a playslip with the posted odds, or tells them how to figure them.
The person would indeed be convinced that she doesn't know what she's talking about.
And Badger, you have a point
