The Illinois Halloween Raffle
To each their own Todd, but let me add this.
In Nevada when a new game goes into a casino it's given a test run to see how popular it is, etc. But if the Nevada Gaming Commission deems that the game has too much of a house advantage over the player, out it goes.
I'm wondering how they would treat one of these raffles, if they had a lottery.
On the lighter side, it's really ironic that so many here at LP that are anti-quick pick can't wait to buy a $20 serial numbered raffle ticket. I kn

Michigan Lucky 7S Raffle Game
On July 6, 2009 the Michigan Lucky 7's Raffle Game went on Sale, selling 1,000,000 tickets, there are still 84,935 tickets left as of Sept. 28, 2 days before the drawing. The drawing was suppose to be held Sept. 16, but too many tickets still were unsold. With Michigan economy the way it is, even at $10 a ticket is not selling well. 1st why even sell 1,000,000 tickets try it at 500,000 instead. They may even push the drawing date ahead again. We'll see what happens.

Need some advice
The debate about odds has been going on ever since I joined LP and it's always about comparing odds to chances. If one ticket is bought, there are 15,000 tickets sold, and of those tickets only one is a winner than each ticket has a 1 in 15,000 chance of being drawn. If each ticket costs $100 and the prize is $300,000 then you divide the prize by the cost of the ticket; $300,000/$100=$3000 so the payoff odds are 3000 to 1. Depending how it's expressed, you're equally correct by saying the odds a

Looks Ok, maybe they will add a 50/50 option to a future raffle where you can spend 5 or 10 extra bux and split the pot 50/50 with the state. I beleive at least 3 people would buy the 50/50 option

CASTING CALL: Looking for Lottery Winners for TLC's hit series "Lottery Changed My Life"
My question is why are they going to keep the title of the series Lottery Changed My Life when they want to also include people who came into sudden money through other means like the casino, a raffle, an inheritance, or a lawsuit? I think a more appropriate title in that case would be, How a Windfall Changed My Life.
