have you ever won using birthday numbers?
I've won $50 a couple of times on Louisiana Lotto using a number that is a combination of my birthday and my age. I've also won a small amount playing my social security number. No big jackpots though. I haven't played these numbers in a long time.
The lottery pool I run at work uses a number that's a combination of the birthdays of the participants, and it has won $3 and $7 a few times.

Lottery Winner's Lucky Day Turns into One Heck of a Mess
Okay, then perhaps the article was referring to something other than an actual receipt for the prize. It just doesn't sound as if the Lottery Office did its homework before paying off the clerks. After all, how would the thieves know where it was originally purchased? The article indicates to me that the ticket wasn't purchased at the Mobil Station, just that the woman walked in to check them. The article reads: New York State Lottery and the GTECH, their parent security firm it's impenetr

Hopefully I'm finished tinkering with the login
Nice job Todd, not only is the security factor a plus but also the convenience factor.
Thanks again...!

NJ Lottery to enforce child support withholdings from winners
The lottery already checks to see if winners defaulted on students loans or owe child support.
Why are they checking and then doing nothing about it? In FL they always check by running your social security number to see if winners have outstanding debts. I hear men complain all the time about sending child support. They didn't seem to mind when they were making the babies.

what would you do with 100 million dollars?
Mmm what will I do? I'll buy two tickets for a Virgin Galactic flight at 200k per ticket (opening soon), spend about 4 mil on a mansion near my hometown, buy a condo in Fl, and CA, buy a truck, sedan, and covertable, go shopping for a much needed new wardrobe, have some work done, get married, buy my mom a car, take her shopping, and tell her she doesn't have to work anymore, travel the world, give to charity, invest, and most importantly, enjoy life! Oh, and possibly toy with the notion of a re

if you found a winning ticket that wasn't yours
So are you saying that if a little old lady living on social security spent a couple of bucks on a dream, it's okay to take away that dream because she had bad eyesight?
(BTW, note that I didn't write I wouldn't keep the ticket. I'm no saint. I just hope I'd feel so guilty that I'd turn it in. Still I would want an equal share.)

Florida Lottery won't pay $500,000 winner, called 'misprint'
I think this case indicated an unfair business practice by FL lottery, and people in FL should form a class-action law suit.
FL lottery has multiple layers of security to prevent misprint from claiming prizes, but it did not form same layers of protection to prevent customers from mistakenly throw away winning tickets because of misprint. That is an unfair business practice to cheat on people's money. People in class action should pull out all the FL lottery scratch ticket prize claiming hist

$75M Texas Lotto winner a 'regular player'
I don't think I would ever claim a lotto win anonymously, no matter how big. Yeah people will ask for money and possibly follow you around, but it is no different for the countless celebrity millionaires out there, many of which are actually worth less than some lucky lotto winners. As always, the hype would calm down, so if anything I'd hire a security team for the 1st month or so if I felt I was really in danger. As far as my friends and family are concerned, I know who I'd help and could care
