PowerBall Jackpot Security Procedures
Tax forms. Lots and lots of tax forms. Any paperwork related to security is going to be done by the lottery staff. I think one of Wintariofan's posts from a week or two ago covered the procedures in Ontario, and it's a safe bet that PB procedures will be similar. Basically they're going to make sure that ticket is the real winner. The PB numbers printed on it are largely for your reference. The stuff that's important to the lottery department are the bar code and the other numbers that identify

New lawsuit claims Indiana Lottery did not award all prizes
Just because they have the ability to track winning tickets before they are claimed doesn't mean it's a good idea to do it. Having a record of where winning tickets were sent can potentially be useful for security reasons, but monitoring that distribution ahead of times offers potential for fraud. I forget if it was Indiana or a nearby state, but there's been at least one case where a lottery staffer used the information on where a winning ticket had been sent to allow others to buy all of the t

Computer help anyone?
Might want to clear your cache if you haven't already. IE-7 Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Delete > Temporary Internet Files > Click Delete > Close when it's done. I have my browsers set to dump cache when closing IE-7 Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Tab > Security > Check box by Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder When Browser is Closed > ok and it rests it.

Why the US is turing into a facist country
People who do such things, should be a lot more careful, also maybe they should have moved to a more secure place. With so much money as they were making, you would think that they could afford better security and somebodies good advice.

Atomic Powered Vehicles Made In The US
In a way this is a funny poll. On the other hand, without breaking security (I'm clear card) contact those in the industry if you feel it is possible. That enriched uranium could be used for more than just bombs..eh? MC²

rdc That is true, however, they would be getting all that cash, so whats a few U.S. Treasury STRIPS to make the jackpot even less valuable...it's almost like they are creating another social security system with that type of annuity with Treasury Bonds...who's to say your annuity will last 26 years...ha ha ha

a poll about annuities and lump sum
Cash lump sum is better; you can take your own annuity or invest it. same as social security. If you take at 62, say get $1500.00 month vs. 65, that's 52,000 in hand more than waiing until 65 with an increase. Life is not written in stone; every day get more precious. Of course if you have a geat job, then not good. And who knows how long you will make around the bend. Who says you wil be around in so many years, and if it is not transferrable to a bene, tough. Show me the money.

If you won the $50 million jackpot today.
I've thought about this so many times. What's the point of having money if you can't share? I'm not married, but I have 2 sisters. One of them is living on Social Security and a small pension so I would want to send her at least the $12,000 tax exempt gift every year, plus pay for all her Medicare supplement premiums doctor/dentist bills. I could either lie and say I'm making a lot of money and want to share or I could tell her the truth. If I won as much as $50 million, I'd probably just gi

Is it really possible to keep your win secret?
I was wondering if you actually can keep your name secret. The reason I ask this is I read about lottery winners (who had claimed there wins publicly) who have gone to buy expensive cars or houses and they were shunned by the salespeople until the salesperson checked there credit report. So even if you claim anonymously, through a trust, or Limited Liability Company you would still have to report your income to the IRS right? When you file the tax forms would they put lottery winner on the for
