i think they should spend more money advertising the game so the sales will pick up because i have heard a radio ad and seen the sign inside stores and thats it. i hope if the raffle drawing goes well they will do another one later this year or next year.

I have to wonder how many lottery tickets, and what actual experience the governor has, with the lottery. He sounds like the carpers you hear at the local store, demanding more lower tier prizes because they have not recieved any return on the two dollars a week they spend. He should support better marketing and promotions, that is what really drives sales. I don't recall Ohio joining the trend in offering a raffle this past holiday season???

My take on the raffle craze is that the state can get a large sum of money in a short period of time, and most of them offer the player much better odds so it's a win-win situation. For example, the IL raffle is taking in 10 million and giving out 5 million in prizes...50% of the win pool to be returned to the bettors. A cool 5 million profit for the state in about a month. It looks like NY will have to offer an incentive to sell out their Raffle to Riches tickets. If NY were to give away Mega Millions tickets, it might be a bad thing, if the MM tickets automatically say 26 ANNUAL PAYMENTS , since NY still requires the choice when you play.

California is under the false impression that people are turned off by the 20 dollar price tag, but they almost are forcing you to buy 4 so you get 1 free. Another case of the old bait and switch. Until an El Gordo like 70% payback raffle hits the US forget it. Sure your odds in most of these raffles is 125k to 1 to win the grand prize but at 20 dollars a ticket its 2.5 million to every dollar. Almost lotto like.

I'm silly and happy and all that stuff! I gambled for the very first time during the SC Raffle by buying 11 tickets and won nothing. I played a scratch card today and won $100 dollars!!!! I'm super happy!!!! Yea! Can't beat that!! My faith is renewed!

I really don't think this is a bad idea as long as the quality of the work is the same as what a person would normally get from a surgeon. I wish someone would hold a dental lottery. I need implants, but not the kind that will fill my sweater. Still, everyone has the right to participate in whatever type of lottery or raffle he/she wants.
