who oversees the Mega Millions and Powerball
Hello, I'm new to the site, and before i came here I never thought about the lottery being fixed. The posts I've read here makes sense, and has me doubting the veracity of the lotteries. I also disagree with having anonymous winners, if you take the opportunity to play, you should have to accept the fact that people will know who you are. The lotteries are too easy to corrupt with no major oversight. The 1980 pennsylvania lotto scam is an example how it's possible to fix the lotteries. Anyone

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
I called my State Representative my State Senator to support this common sense measure. People try to scam others regardless the level of personal wealth of the intended victim. It would also go a long way in protecting the safety of the winners and their families!

If you won the big one. Where would you NOT want to move to?
Not going to quote your text; one time for that drivel is more than enough. You really need to get a clue. Once again, it needs to be pointed out you have reading comprehension problems. We were discussing Leno's car, not the EV1. You changed the subject, just as you are apt to do. Sure wish you'd stay on point w/ these things. You can speak how you like here in Texas, as long as you don't insult people, esp. by calling them communists. Them's called fightin' words . You progressive

Postal worker prevents man from losing thousands to lottery scams
I'll never understand why people fall for these. There are plenty of examples of things here in the US where you have to pay some sort of tax, yet you don't have to pay anything to receive them. If I ever get one of these scam letters I'll send them a reply telling them to simply take the taxes/duties/fees out of my winnings. It would be interesting to see if they respond to me. I would try to bribe them in another reply, saying once they send me the money I would send triple the taxes/dut

Postal worker prevents man from losing thousands to lottery scams
Foreign lottery schemes continue to surface, keeping postal clerks and inspectors busy looking out for potential victims. An observant postal clerk helped a man who had rival con-artists scheming him for cash, and it's a story that could help you or someone you know from falling for a similar scheme. They are told they've won a prize, either a sweepstakes or a lottery prize, but there is a catch, said Steve Bolz, U.S. Postal Inspector. Foreign lottery schemes are costing Americans more

New twist on foreign lottery scheme
Sometimes it isn't greed or immaturity but desperation or a real desire to help people that gets some of the elderly caught up in these situations. There was a case in Maryland where and elderly gentleman had exhausted all avenues for being able to care for his ill wife at home and got caught up in one of these schemes because the money promised to him would have allowed him to hire help and not have to place her in a nursing home. Also, I witnessed something at our local 7-11 last year. An e

New twist on foreign lottery scheme
Creeps like this prey upon the greed of their marks. People need to realize you are not going to win a lottery or sweepstakes you did not buy a ticket or an entry for. This one sounds especially wicked as it's a combination lottery scam / Ponzi scheme.
