Todd's outdone himself again!!
Todd: For example, in every message thread on the forums, in IE you'll notice a 2 pixel-wide white space between the author's name block and the little message header that says what time the message was posted. In Firefox, that little white space doesn't exist - the author block runs together with the header. Yes, I know the devil is in the details but until you mentioned it I NEVER noticed that white spot. My concern is more with navigation and security on a site which has not been a real p

Holowka.Werth was on parole for previous burglary convictions when he broke through the back wall of the store, 434 Lake Nepessing Road, and left with liquor, cigarettes and lottery tickets. He was arrested after detectives tracked him thro

Tax Question...
If the powerball annuity value is $111 million then the cash value is around 55%-56% of the annuity. This leads to $62.4 million in cash value. The lottery withholds 25% federal tax and whatever your state tax liability is (depending upon your state). At the end of year, you would still owe 10% more to the federal government (the federal tax rate is 35% on anything over $319,100). So $62.4 million * 65% = $40.56 millionSince I live in a state without any state tax on lottery winnings I would

Occupation
Full Time College Student, Resident Assistant (RA), and Security Aide (SA). Contrary to the myths some of you may have heard, there is more to the job than making sure people don't do stupid stuff. We are not trying to kill their fun. We are suggesting other methods of having fun. For example, in my complex, we hold a program every Friday night to give the residents an alternative to drinking. RAs, and to a lesser extent, SAs, also help residents out when they need help in situations such a

Did I RV this?
Thanks to both of you for your help. Those are some interesting links, but all I can get on your first one is a 404, Jack. I certainly enjoyed reading the rest of them, but I don't think any of them is what I saw the other night. I think that headline emerged again on my ISP homepage and it turned out to be a story about a group of scientists in Los Alamos, NM forming a think tank called The Los Alamos Center for International Nuclear Security Studies. Their objective is to contribute to nationa

Forming a trust to claim prize
I believe the Freedom of Information Act applies only to the Feds to secure access to declassified documents no longer deemed a security threat. Also, as long as the Trust pays all required taxes (state and federal), I think that some anonymity (sp) can be afforded. I know if I won a huge pot, I certainly would not want the world to know where to find me. Too many crackpots out there that meaner then me. Also, did you not hear the recent news about a guy that was actually plotting to kidnap Lette

world lottery
We don't trust the Indiana lottery, with prizes they size they are. Not the NY lottery. Here we're talking about prizes larger than the GNP of a lot of countries. Buying a ticket would get you lower odds than buying a raffle ticket for a giveaway junker when the carnival comes to town. I think I'd rather see something to rush the larger jackpots in the multi-state lotteries. I don't entirely trust those, but I'd see them as paragons of security and virtue compared to a multi-national with pr

ball drawings vs. computer drawings
I think I'd have to give up playing the lottery if the numbers were generated by computer. I'm the kind of person who doesn't trust his own computer not to cheat at Hearts. I think it would be impossible to put in safeguards to keep the State, hackers, employees of the lottery, from jimmying the results. In this world where Top Secret national defense systems can be hacked by a 14 year old, how can we possibly trust the security of a lottery computer? Not to mention the folks on the 'legit'

Social Security Lottery
Quote: Originally posted by grandmapat on March 11, 2005It's no joke! I heard on one of the news channels, Fox I think, that one of the proposed bailouts for Social Security is a NATIONAL LOTTERY. Now, if they would let China play via the net we could also solve the balance of trade in one package deal. Just the fact that some lawmaker has injected the idea says that some day we will have a national lottery. Probably need one very soon if that nation debt keeps on going and going!I see this i
