LOTTERY’S First-ever millionaire raffle
Odds of winning a $1 million top prize are 1-in-125,000; odds of winning a $100,000 prize are 1-in-100,000 and the odds of winning $1,000 are 1-in-1000.Wow not bad! Especially for a million. Too bad I hate scratchers, but I may make an exception here.

The most important question on LP
OK, Sirbrad and Cahaba...Here's a quick pick-quick pick method that I'm experimenting with today. I've already entered my 25 picks for IL so I'm going to enter my experimental 25 picks for the CA pick 5 on the prediction board since it's the same game parameters.I used the random.org sequence generator with the parameters between 1 and 39 and picked the first 20 numbers. The odds of winning the jackpot using 20 numbers is lowered from 575,000 to 1 to 15,500 to 1 if all 5 numbers come from the

MM at 12 million
Yeah, California was the only way the players would accept longer odds.

Powerball Ice Cold...
Despite the higher odds, someone recently hit it at only $36 million, so the odds aren't insurmountable.

OH Lot 'O Play- Drawings
I agree. There isn't any fun in the game when you are forced to do something that you may not want to do. If they get rid of it, I hope they replace it with a good MI-OH joint venture. Just don't let MI get ahold of any of the drawings, because they will RNG them in a heartbeat. This is also something that needs to be addressed: the odds are supposedly 1 in 6,273,960 but you could calculate them as 1 in 75,287,520. The bigger number is your actual odds if you pick your own numbers (the top line o

Lightning or Lottery?
You can always increase your odds with lightning. Carry a thin iron rod with a copper wire on it touching the ground. Wave it around on an open field like a cemetary or golf course during the next lightning storm and your odds can really go up. Getting your odds to go up for the lottery is a lot more difficult.

Here's how to lose at Mega Millions...
Odds of winning. Your odds of winning the jackpot are 135 million-to-1, approximately the same as your chances of being struck by lightning while fending off an attack by a two-headed shark that was recently elected prime minister of Tajikistan. In contrast, the odds of winning the state's Super Lotto Plus jackpot are 13.9 million-to-1 (same scenario, one-headed shark).Knowing this still doesn't stop me from playing. And it doesn't stop millions of other people from playing either. =)

Pick 3 Paradox? Question of probability
Thanks Raven,I know that the 720 NoMatch #'s = 72% and that the 270 Doubles = 27% and the ten Triples = 1% of the total 1000 combos. Any of the three number types will statistically perform closely to their odds: in 10,000 games there will be AROUND 7200 NoMatches, 2700 Doubles, and 100 triples. Frequency can never change the odds, but only verify it.Im not trying to guess the probabilty based on frequency or statistics, I am trying to verify the odds (or should I say find the odds/probability

Why odds 167 and 333 in Pick 3 ?
Pretend for a second that there were no doubles in the Pick 3 game. If a double comes we just keep spinning until only a Single number was achieved. Now then. The odds would be 1 in 720 for a straight right? Now,would the odds at getting a Box be 1 in 120? How would the odds change if we added back say 10 doubles only. Then another 10 doubles and another. Maybe that would help me see it or how that changes the odds. Thoth that 116 consecutive games to have a 50% chance etc. That's hard to bend
