PA Lottery Proposed Play at Pump Will Accept Credit Cards
To both you and Ron ... it just seems dangerous to charge lottery tickets. For one thing ... is there a limit on a one time lottery purchase? ... or would it be whatever the card limit is? For example ... say a credit card limit is $5,000 and someone really thinks they can hit a $900 million dollar Powerball jackpot ... so they buy 2,000 PB tickets at a cost of $4,000. Let's presume they win nothing or just a small amount of that $4,000 back ... but now they decide not to pay the credit card

Discovery - New PA Raffle Game Change
It's possible the numbers skewing high in some raffles is due to a glitch of some sort, or maybe it's simply random variation. There's no simple way to really know, and that's the crux of the issue. Other states using RNDs have experienced glitches due to software bugs / misconfiguration. The RND and related hardware are closed sourced, and not publicly scrutinized nor even visible. Who knows what the RND is really doing; can't see in there unlike balls that are visible and can be closely exa

Would you stop playing the lottery if you were restricted to Quick Picks?
To everyone who has said they wouldn't play if the lottery was only quick picks, do you buy raffle tickets? Two different things you say? Let's say a winning raffle ticket is: 215347223 And let's say a lottery drawing is: 1 12 20 21 24 35 but let's write that as: 11220212435

Post your scratch ticket results
omiller and dr65 are doing great! Great wins guys, those frenzy tickets look to be treating you guys nicely. I may just pick up a couple today, but nothing crazy. Maybe 2 or 3. I did buy $10 worth of match 6 quick picks yesterday, as it's up to 900K now. I've also got 3 millionaire raffle tickets, and one more that I entered into a poll at work. I'll probably get 2 more raffle tickets before the drawing, they haven't sold that many of them yet.

Take5 NY
Very sound advice Butch...very sound and thanks for posting here. I too have my limit. I can afford to play more lines/games than I actually do. To me, the lottery is a sucker bet. I play it because I enjoy tracking NY Take5 numbers and trying to come up with a strategy that might win me some money. As for PB MM, I'm in a pool at work, but we don't play either MM or PB unless one or the other has a jackpot above 200 million. Even then, we play one drawing per week, usually the Friday nigh

PA Raffle Countdown to 500,000 ...
CW ... I don't mean to make you feel bad, but our pool has won $100 twice in the CT raffle! Did it for the second time last summer. Last week, I called my daughter who goes to college in CT, and I asked her to pick up two raffle tickets for me when she came home for the Xmas break. When she arrived home with them early this week I was very surprised to see that they were in the 48,600 range. I was expecting to see numbers on them that were well over 100,000. To my mind, raffles are the bes

Monopoly Millionaires game
GiveFive, Go back and read all the posts in this thread by LottoMetro and myself. Yes, MMC does become a raffle when the jackpot is hit and yes, the jackpot was hit Friday night, but that was an extremely unlikely result. In fact, in the 3 drawings so far, the jackpot winner was the *only* ticket to hit the first 5 numbers. Based on ticket sales so far, statistically that should happen about once in every three draws. But then you've got to match the randomly-generated property (1 in 28 chanc

MONOPOLY Millionaires club
Glad to hear the rep was helpful (most of the time they aren't!). However, I think more clarification is needed. The Club winners are indeed selected by a RNG (p.s. the Club number is gen'd by the terminal, basically RNG). But, not in the way you think. When we think of RNG we think of each digit being spun like the ball drawings are done. If your ticket matches the numbers randomly chosen then you win. That's not the case here. As you stated, it is just like a raffle. This is exactly h

Take5 NY
Thanks kap. When I started playing regularly back in April of 2009, a Friday night JP was worth 100K+.... it has steadily been decling since then. Yeah, the lousy economy probably does have something to do with that, but I still believe lottery ticket sales see a surge during a bad economy. So, what happened??? Where did all the big T5 JP's go? Compare it with the Sweet MIllion stats NY State posts on their lottery website. Sure, you see player interest spike when they have that buy 5 get

Beware Of The Halloween Millions (Millionaire) Raffle!
According to the Ohio Lottery it's a 50/50 raffle: Just like a typical split-the-pot-style raffle, the number of top prizes is entirely up to you! As sales grow, we will continue to add chances for $1,000,000 top prizes.* So buy early and buy often, if you d like. Who knows? And they have a slightly different description of the two $1 million prizes. *There will be two guaranteed $1M prizes. An additional $1M prize will be paid for every additional $2M in sales after the first $4.6M in
