Ex-wife gets millions from lottery winner 10 years after leaving him
Was there not a similiar case in Florida a few years back? The ex-wife, after the final divorce disappeared. The ex-husband did not even know where she was. No children were involved. For over 10 years the man never heard from his ex. After his win, he found where she was because she sued him in court for 50% of his win. And the Florida court gave her the money. There will always be a liberal campaigning to take money away from those who have two nickels to rub together in order to give BO

Has a Lottery Clerk Ever Attempted to Rip You Off?
It's happened to me twice with the same clerk at the same convenience store. It wasn't until I left the store the second time that I caught on to what was happening. I play scratch offs and usually have 3-5 tickets to redeem at once. Both times as the clerk was keying in the numbers, she looked up and said that one of the tickets wasn't a winner. She didn't offer the ticket back to me, but kept them behind the counter. I'm a newbie at scratch-offs, so I thought I might have messed up and given h

Poll: Lottery, Intuition, and Intent
Do you believe the Lottery's outcome can be influenced by some Humans ? No, not legitmately, not if everything is on the up and up. If the fix is in , that's quite a different story - like the scam way back when in Pennsylvania to make 666 be drawn. But I'm sure that's not the kind of influence the OP is asking about.

Has a Lottery Clerk Ever Attempted to Rip You Off?
Not very many stores can payoff $500 pick-3 winners or $400 pick-4 doubles box bets so cashing the tickets can be more complicated than actually picking the numbers. In Ohio the chain grocery stores usually had enough money to cash the tickets. Some part time players believe they can only cash the ticket at the store where it was purchased and they are more vulnerable than experienced players. The biggest problem are the people having no idea if the ticket is a winner and/or for how much, Whe

Has a Lottery Clerk Ever Attempted to Rip You Off?
More good info and advice, thanks Stack. I never considered that straight/box angle for a scam either but it makes sense. Pay them for the box win and keep the straight win money. Good advice on cashing only at the Cashing Agents locations too. Wish all states had that. I almost wish the human element was taken completely out of the equation by just having huge ATM's reading the tickets and paying you off, maybe directly to your bank account or something. Of course somebody would probably com

Couple, son charged in Detroit illegal lottery
The Tennessee Lottery will be glad to hear about these crooks being nabbed. They would be devastated to see anybody cheated out of money by an unscrupulous lottery scam. It would make the whole industry look bad. I'm sure they will demand heavy fines and maximum prison sentences.

Crossroad With The (Ca) Lottery
Dollar419, go ahead and complain. You have every right to address the subjects you've presented in this forum. In my opinion, the California State Lottery is a scam, and is simply one more vein for liberals to tap. Bait and Switch would be an appropriate term to describe what transpired with our state-sanctioned gambling. Just look at what Ahnold has done with indian casinos: They were promised sovereignty as federal reservations, but the State of California started taxing their proceeds (And, c

What's with NY Sweet Million??
Last night I won a big six bucks (3 #'s on 2 lines, QP) on my SM $10.00 investment, I hope the promo is extended to October....... Number 6 repeated last night from last Monday's drawing, that's the number that screwed my Mom out of the million, the only number she didn't have on her $500 winning ticket last week! GiveFive: I remembered something else about the possible attempt to scam me out of my SM promo ticket, the lottery machine in that store sits high off the counter, so the custome

Undercover lottery investigation tests store clerks' honesty
Yet another example for lottery players to contemplate: A convenience store clerk and her daughter were arrested after they conned a California Lottery undercover investigator. The scratcher ticket he handed to the clerk was a Decoy they utilize to test the honesty of lottery retailers. The woman checked the ticket, which registered on the machine as a $20,000.00 jackpot winning ticket. She informed the undercover investigator that it wasn't a winner. Her daughter then attempted to redeem the pr
