Top 10 "Reasons" why the Powerball Lottery is a scam...!
crow, Re: your OP, I'll go own the list. 1. Agreed, we go in knowing this. 2. With that many combinations it would be almost impossible not to have some duplicate tickets. If there would be no duplicates, that is if once a set of numbers was taken, that's not a lottery it's a raffle....of sorts. 3. The lotto commissions aran't making any claims about what winners do with the non-jackpot prizes. In fact we've had discussions here on LP about most of that money going right back into th

Alabama woman gets money back from lottery scam
An Alabama woman recently got $16,800 back after a joint U.S. and Canadian investigation into fraudulent telemarketers who represented themselves as lottery officials. The Alabama resident, whose name was not released, got her money back on May 14, according to a press release from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). A multi-agency U.S-Canada initiative called Project COLT was responsible for helping return the money. Many variations exist on the lottery scams, according to

CT: That scam is well thought out, but....................................I think I'll join! Universal religion is good for your wallet and meditation in the clinky. There is an underground economy in the US that laughs at the IRS. You have the IRS chasing $10 contributions by small time cheats or whatever.....................next it could be: you ain't buying healthcare..................or you claimed used underwear. They don't see the forest thru the trees. While there is literally billi

Lottery winner gives away millions
^ I don't know what they were thinking...and I for one don't want my money supporting these types of people...I agree with you. The art world has been filled with scam artists...no pun intended...but not all artists are the same. I don't like it when government pays for art, art education is fine but they shouldn't support artists. I do get where you are coming from, hope you understand my view as well.

Lottery scam victim, 78, becomes scammer, swindles friends
As the saying goes A fool and his money.... . How on earth does someone spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to get a big payout? I wonder if any of them thought, Hmm this seems a bit shady, we are being taken into a basement and told we have to pay $10,000 to see any of the money! Helping someone out is fine, but when your spending $330,000 to get more money, somewhere deep inside you have to realize or at least think that something is wrong ! What's ironic is my Fiances cousin is getting

Elderly man makes the right call on lottery scam
I'm amazed that this poor guy was smart enought to be a commercial jet pilot, yet foolish enough to fall a lottery scam. It just proves that no matter how book-smart one may be, anyone can be scammed. I'm always curious why the people getting aksed to send money, don't just say to the scammer, take my taxes, fees, duties, etc. out of the principal and just send me the remainder . Plus I've never heard of so many people sending money via Western Union either. I'm just about to turn 43, and I've n
