Mass. Lottery ends some scratch ticket games before grand prizes paid out
You're correct regarding the prize structure must be the same as the original batch. However, the size of the reorder is immaterial, if the game is later closed prior to selling out the reordered batch. For example, a lottery notices Game X has awarded, or is expected to, more top tier prizes than desired. Lottery could wait it out and hope for the best, or reorder more as a hedge. Reorder boosts the number of top prizes so it won't fall to zero. That allows for current ticket stock, which ma

Michigan Lottery cracks down on retailers who cheat customers
One and two week suspensions are a joke. Especially for the ripped ticket incident. Also, it appears much of the information in the article was from FOIA requests. If Michigan Lottery truly valued player security, they would post the information without hiding it. As with many lotteries, oversight of retailers is lax and mostly just for show. Don't allow lottery sellers to buy / play tickets at their own location(s). That alone would eliminate much abuse. However, most, if not all, U.S. lotte

Maryland postal worker wins $10 million scratch-off lottery jackpot
...but the free time is worth it. My point exactly. As for me I have 268 hours left in my job and throwing in the towel 31 DEC 17. Then switch to Tricare Prime for 3 years, then that becomes free. Military pension goes up 4.6% in January, Social Security in February. I'll miss the PICU in many ways, and irreparable treatment from previous manager of RT is the main reason I'm leaving. Like you said free time is worth. My point is if I were him I'd retire early, you can't buy back lost yea

Drawings show pattern
If security is a good as they say it is, why do they need to test the machines with pre tests? Ain't nobody going to get near them to mess with anything. I often wonder if the numbers I play ever come up in the pre tests. If you knew how often they did, then you would know whether what you're doing system wise is working or not. Then you would have to figure out a way to compensate for the pre tests. Unfortunately, only Texas tells you the pre test results. So if you play any where else, we'

Winner sues Colorado Lottery 12 years after rigged drawing
this kind of thing had never happened before. They can argue that the moon is made of green cheese, too, but it's not about whether or not it had ever happened previously. It's about whether or not it was foreseeable, whether or not the lottery promoted and/or has an obligation to run games that are fair, and whether or not they took adequate precautions to ensure that the games were fair. And arguably, it did happen previously. AFAIK there was never a deliberate compromise of RNG code, but

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
I agree wholeheartedly with everything Adam said, especially his point about the state being flooded with duds. I found the spot that sells tickets in the Miami airport. You don't need to go through security to access it. They had an insane amount of tickets, as well as a machine. I didn't buy any tickets. Spending $100 and getting $20/$100 back consistently isn't fun. I've spent $300 on $20 tickets, and gotten a $40 return. Those types of returns are disgusting.

Post Your Winning Tickets Here
Hi Scratch ticket posters, I read someone's post on NC's LuckeZone, that scratch off pack numbers are big hitters when the pack numbers reach 80,000. The pack number is printed on the back ex: 561-073701-031. The middle 6 digits is the pack number. Just a suggestion to also post you winning pack number when you post. BTW, LuckeZone posted back they would have their security dept look into this..

Iowa Lottery exposed Social Security numbers of nearly 3,000 winners
Notice that NEXT YEAR Medicare card will be sans SSAN. I mean the privacy law is from 1974 and the feds just implementing this? At work our hours worked were just left laying on a table with SSAN right on it. Then they had a survey and told them I'm a member of the ACLU and this is illegal. Let me assure you within two weeks the SSAN was gone and we were given unique ID's. The best thing to do, which we did a long time ago is get a security freeze. We did 2 out of 3 credit report

What amount of money would you like to win?
10 million wd get me a nice house and enough to live on for the rest of my days. I would still have to move to a cheaper area. Housing prices continue to rise. A million bucks wd get you a dump in my area. it's insane as are the property taxes. I wouldnt mind being able to take private jets but that would require a lot more cash. While first class and business class are comfortable enough, with private you are all ready screened and you just drive to the jet and climb on board -- no long tre

BETA - Neural Network in Java. Numbers Predictor
C and C++ are natively compiled and native binaries are executed directly. Java code on the other hand is compiled into a byte code which runs on a Java Virtual Machine(JVM) So where is this security issue peeping here? Why would Banks and Insurance companies use java in their Web/GUI fronted and backend?
