Bigger jackpot or better odds?
I don't want a bigger jackpot, especially at the expense of the odds becoming worse than they are now!I can be content with $20,000,000 just as much as I could with $2,000,000. The jackpot bandwagon may see only dollar signs but I believe losing track of the odds is foolish. Increasing the jackpot does not help players' advantage, strategy, or skill. Instead, it taxes and depletes them, rendering them almost ineffective.I liked the Big Game back when the final number had a smaller number fie

Probability Question
in light of the original question... the odds would be 1/500 for the number to be drawn in that day... but it would still be 1/1000 for a player to match the winning number in either drawing. If you played 911 in the AM drawing you would have a 1/1000 chance of winning. If you played 911 in the PM drawing, your odds would be 1/1000 of winning in that drawing. The only way you would better your personal odds of winning would be to play another number in each drawing.

Powerball growing faster
RJ:The double matrix allows lotteries to set jackpot odds AND overall chance of winning simultaneously, using the same number of prize levels (nine). The upper field of numbers helps determine the jackpot odds, while the bottom field is used to arrive at the overall prize odds.
