Mathematical Sequences
Quote: Originally posted by your wrong on May 21, 2004Most people would call someone who knew the odds of winning the lottery and continued to play a fool.A man convinced against his will / Is of the same opinion still. On the other hand, when there's a chance to win millions of dollars that only costs a buck, some people would call someone who *didn't* play a fool. Not me, of course. Different people value a dollar differently. But I think that for most of us it's worth a buck just to have that c

Canada and UK Predictions
My take on Canadians is that as a whole lot less play Daily 3 than our American neighbours. That may soon change because of a format change for the National 6/49 (read: doubling of the ticket cost from $1 to $2 thus effectively increasing the odds of winning 2 fold per dollar played). BC49 (smaller provincial lotto) is doing essentially the same, as of June tickets will cost $1 (vs $0.50 previously).I for one will pay a lot more attention to Pick 3 now and not support 'our' lotto corps shameles

Stay with your numbers
I am also against playing the same numbers for a long period of time. I will at times play the same numbers for 2 or 3 days in row but never longer. In just of terms and hot and cold numbers, you could have number combinations that are all hot or all cold for periods of time and they could stay that way for months at a time. It is very, very, very rare in a game like Powerball or Mega Millions to have all hot numbers drawn and almost never for all cold numbers to be drawn. If you have either of

Ga. Midday Saturday...just noticed
Still looking for digit 9 ofcourse. But....... the last 6 days on Midday have contained at least 2 high numbers! That's close to being at the end. With 6 anything of 50/50 in a row... that's usually it. That 1 and 4 on the low side might go with that digit 9. Sum 2 is still out a long time....now that the sum Zero has hit with 000 My friend says we should look out for a sum of 20 or higher ...soon. PS... sorry, I count Zero as high ...so that means we need at least 2 numbers from 12345 side.

Is all this lottery research worth it?
There are too many people that post in this forum that count their eggs before they have any chickens. The odds of anyone ever posting a set of winning numbers here are the same as anyone here ever winning a jackpots. There's a good chance someone might pick up an idea here or there and that's why I post and read others posts. I would rather share a jackpot with someone who bought a ticket than someone who didn't. I've read several posts complaining about Jack Whittaker, the big PowerBall win

Tips on Picking Numbers
Once again I'm in agreement with BobP. I know this discussion is regarding the powerball game, which I don't currently play, the odds are just too long for me, I stick to mainly my state lottery game-Cashball, 5 numbers 1-33. Playing the dead numbers should depend on the type of game in which you are in, the largest your number size, such as in Powerball, the greater the chance that your cold number could stay that way. Just out of curiosity BobP, would you happen to have any idea about the %

Florida 5/13
A B 4 9 1 7 0 8 2 6 5 3Pick 1 from column A and 2 from column B or vice versa. I couldn't come up with a Key Number this time. I look first to see if any number is in its respective position. Well there are 3 this time...5 is in position 5, 7 is in position 7, and 8 is in position 8. Maybe for fun play 578! Next, I look at the positions to see which one has gone the longest without hitting. This time positions 2 and 5 are tied at 6 times. So, for this time, no Key Number.I like to look

Is all this lottery research worth it?
I've spent a lot of time posting lottery odds and other lottery math pages on my web site. I consider it time well spent, if only to provide information to those who do analyses and develop systems. I've never posted a pick and/or prediction, and have no intention of doing so. Was and is my time wasted? Resoundingly, the answer has to be No! . Whether or not one believes that a system can improve one's chances of winning, I personally have met a lot of people here and on other gambling sites wi
