Ill Little Lotto
I know that they sacrificed the 4 out of 5 prize to accomodate the 2 out of five prize. To me the 3 out of five prize was basically left the same as you are getting double your money but your odds were sliced in half on getting 3 out of 5. I just wish that they would raise the 4 out of 5 back to at least 200. In this jackpot run the 4 out of 5 was hit by probably 1000 people. So then the jackpot would only be 1.4 million tonite, what is the difference. I am just saying they didnt need to fol

Ill Little Lotto
The jackpot hasnt been hit in a while and we now have a huge jackpot. I am not a fan of this game though as it used to be refresing to have a way to go after a 20-60k win a day and have a realistic shot at winning it. Now if you hit four out of five your are really screwed. They should increase that prize to 250 bucks and they would stil have a jackpot at this point that would be over a million. And how bout instead of trying to hoodwink the players by changing the game and leading the playe

IL. hot Pairs...03/24/2004
Larry G.,I'm assuming you are using your short history of 30 days from our discussion on Sandy's pairs thread. Here are my matches with your's using about 3 months history. Let's see how they compare and fare.04-07-01-03-79I think it's a viable approach. If they've been coming in the last 30 days as well as the last 90 days, then they are a good bet in my book. Thanks for your pairings contribution, and good luck in tonight's Little Lotto ($1.4 mil. jackpot with only 575,000 to 1 odds)....anot

Nebraska Senators to allocate lottery winnings
I'm always surprise when people buy lottery tickets and never bother to check them themselves, but I guess it happens all the time. I was picking up some gas the other day and the lady ahead of me bought 20 instant tickets after paying for her gas, gave the tickets back to the clerk and asked her to check them with the terminal. When the clerk told her, there wasn't a winner among them, she thanked her and left. On the back of most instant tickets, the printed odds are 1:5 or better, so I was

Sign the Megaplier Petition
Quote: Originally posted by four4me on March 23, 2004The only reasion i asked is because a 5 megaplier hit by a couple hundred people with 5 white balls could run into some big payouts. It could even be more money payed out to people than the jackpot was worth if even more people were to hit. I know the odds of it happening are against this happening but you never now. A set of numbers could hit that many people played. It would almost force them to split the jackpot up into smaller peices to pa

Georgia Fantasy 5 up to $1,800,000.00
Quote: Originally posted by Lottery_Analyst on March 19, 2004Sorry I don't. All I know is the estimated jackpot according to what the lottery told the vendor I purchase tickets from. If you have time you might want to check out the Georgia Lottery website at www.galottery.com There might be some info there.LA, I went to the site to check out the odds and jackpot. They do not indicate on the site that the jackpot is $1.8 million. Where did get this figure? The site says the rollover is $1.37 m

Laid off Indiana factory worker claims $89 million Powerball jackpot
I have to disagree. Unlikely combinations do come up and should be played ocassionally. When 11-44-45-48-50 + 2 comes up that is very unlikely and that is one thing. But when you are talking about 1-2-3-4-5 +6 coming up, that is another thing altogether. The odds of five sequential coming up are extremely slim (and rarely if ever happens) and much less for six. I don't think this guy from Indiana winning with this unlikely set of numbers is justification for running out and playing 1-2-3-4-5 +6

Lottery Pool Concept
Well Jake I think this sort of thing's been tried before with mixed success.I would like to note that there are 31,556,736 seconds in a year. This makes it difficult even for lots of people covering lots of stores to cover a significant portion of the field for even a 6/49 drawing in a three or four day period. I would guess it's pretty damn near impossible for games with odds like those of the powerball or megamillions. Also the expectation value of group as a whole could be very low, partic

Lottery Odds Reduction
It sounds like you are trying to reduce the odds by filtering. You might want to check and see how many of the past winning combinations would have passed those filters not individually but when all your filters are applied together. Almost every past winning combination I've checked contained some filterable factor that would have gotten it kicked out of the play group. One thing you can do is create filter profiles for certain types of drawings, such as when five or six of the winning numbers
