Tennessee couple claims share of $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot
that's the polar opposite of what they did. even doing what you would do you would probably still be found out. but you would have tried at least. beginning to think that this lawyer intentionally exposed them to maximize his take. of course all lawyers are liars and them being somewhat less than intelligent allowed it. i feel bad for them actually. now they have to resort to drastic measures to live a somewhat normal life. certainly working as an employee for someone else is out of the question

TN Powerball Winners on the Today Show
I don't agree with the mindset that all lottery winners should all the sudden do all moral things and help the world just because they won a jackpot. They won and it is their life and can do whatever they want to regardless of how much money they got. But it is kinda stupid to go back to a 9 to 5 when you could make a lot more money and have a lot more fun being self-employed. Also if they really wanted to help people they could start a huge business and create jobs. But some just want to relax

So, the lottery has yet to produce a single Billion Dollar Winner.
Ahh, yeah.
The Imagined Future; so fun to play with.
With the vast numbers of jaw flappy, eye bulging, jackpot jolly come latelies playing; we can see the possibility of a blabbing, blithering idiot making that mistake.
But, there's also the Imagined Future of a player keeping his/her mouth shut, calling the lottery office to confirm, contacting a lawyer, hiring a security firm, preparing a trust, seeking a reputable financial adviser, working with a public relations director... no

Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich answers your questions
Thank you Mr. Rich for taking your time tonight to answer some questions. I have a question that wasn't asked. Whenever there is a breach in security in a game and an investigation does take place, and lottery employee(s) are terminated and prosecuted, is the general public notified about these things? I understand that everyone is going to be upset about spending all that money on lotto tickets when the game was rigged by tipton and the jackpot was $15 Million but, even for lower amounts being

Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich answers your questions
This long-running investigation has shown us a lot about what someone may try to do in an attempt to gain a lottery prize. We've learned so much through the process and put in place greater separation of duties, additional layers of security and new equipment. We pledge to continue to protect against vulnerabilities identified as part of our ongoing efforts to safeguard the integrity of lottery games.
It's our responsibility as lotteries to offer games and prizes with systems and procedures b

Are you ready for the attention?
Oh yeah, I'm ready. Gonna split the annuity with one other person and then immediately invest 4-5mil in CD's to earn a decent return my first year. After that I'll probably invest more aggressively with the future payments, while living off the interest from the first year's. So sorry to all the beggars, but its all tied up right now.
I would also quickly invest in some acreage and surround a medium sized home (top of the line security system, of course) with an electric razorwire fence

Iowa Lottery CEO Terry Rich answers your questions
Hi Terry,
This has not been the first problem with computer draws (see Tennessee.) Even though every time a computer system gets hacked, whether credit cards, banks, hospital etc. there is always the promise of better security and the promise that everything will be done to prevent it from happening again. But it always does. That being said, why don't the states all go back back to mechanical draws? NOBODY here on LP trusts computer draws. If they want to maintain the integrity of the game i

Is Powerball Jackpot Electronically Deposited or Do They Give You a Physical Check
Why would anyone even need a security guard?
Because the check they give you is the same giant one you hold at the press conference. The guard is just there to help you carry it.
It's just another part of their marketing plan.

POWERBALL CREATES WORLD'S FIRST BILLION-DOLLAR JACKPOT
Out of control indeed. Personally, I'm leery of playing in this drawing. It's not the amount of money itself that's the issue, but rather the crush of publicity of winning a world record jackpot. Seemingly every friend , family member, etc will come out of the woodwork seeking help , so-called investment advisers offering their advice , fending off outright scammers, and dealing with frivolous lawsuits. And then there's security and privacy to contend with.
Personally, Mega Millions is lookin
