3 face charges in Indiana Lottery scam
OK..why was the ticket fraudulent? Because they owned the store and cashed in a winning ticket from the store? Are cashiers and store owners able to somehow figure out which tickets are winners? I know I heard of cashiers determining winning tickets by using a needle or pin and making a straight line over the barcode then scanning. The winning tickets they keep and the losing tickets they put back and those purchasing tickets cant see that there is a straight line across barcode.

My numbers hit 3/4/15, at lastminute I blew off playing- I am devastated- help
Yep, it's the curse of having a dedicated set of numbers which you know like your social security number and you've got to play 'em faithfully or this is what happens. There are many people whom we don't know that have fallen into this category and so will others...and I hate it for 'em. This is the sole reason I've never committed myself to dedicated numbers because just when I can't, or, don't play the risk is actually very reasonable for a HUGE loss...much larger than the few bucks it would'v

Quest for lottery jackpot denied again
Jackson's oft-told story, revived again this month during a public hearing conducted by the Public Safety and Security Committee, begins around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 1996, the date on which Jackson's sister discovered he possessed a winning lottery ticket purchased Friday, Oct. 13, 1995. Media reports about an unclaimed jackpot had prompted her search.
At that point, Jackson had 45 minutes to validate the ticket before it expired. Lottery headquarters were closed that Sunday and they we

States that offer winners the choice of anonymity
I'm from Massachusetts, but I now live in Australia.
I like that the Massachusetts Lottery has a subscription service across the whole country. More lotteries should offer subscription services nationwide.
I also would like to see all state lotteries, including the Massachusetts Lottery, allow winners to remain anonymous.
It is not about secrecy, it is about safety and security for winners.

Calif. man knew he won $1M but lost the lottery ticket
Noise-gate that is the best place for a women to carry her money! I actually cut a slit into my bra and tucked my money and credit cards they were safe. It was my 6'2 partner that they got. He was stunned he is very cautious and had taken precautions, we didn't even realize it had happened until we got to the cruise ship terminal. They weren't able to get it all some bills and one credit card. But we beefed up our security from that point on. We had traveled in Europe many times before this so p

Lawsuits against lottery playes
I've long wondered why lottery agents aren't better regulated. Ticket disputes and other sketchy activity (saying ticket isn't a winner, paying out wrong amount, checking instants ahead of time / tampering with security code, selling instants out of sequence, playing tickets on their own terminal, etc) by retailers is nothing new. It seems by and large, lotteries don't seem overly concerned, and often treat agents accused of abuse with kids gloves.
However, ironically, this lack of regard for

What are some of the things that are NOT on your wishlist should you win?
Excellent lottolaughs. I mostly agree, I would like some fenced land with security gates and then helping animal rescue and shelters.
Designer clothes, jewelry, furniture, what a waste. I have enough jewelry and would probably wear costume imitations anyway. Dont need all the jewelry to go to diners lol.
Peace and quiet reins, no drama mama.

It's time the lottery needs to stop releasing a person name and picture when a big win is won!
This is just my opinion and I could be wrong.
When the NY lawyer tried to claim that jackpot winning Hot Lotto ticket on behalf of a trust, the Iowa Lottery wanted the name of the person purchasing the ticket before they write the check. We now know why that trust was formed, but the rule to know who purchased the ticket is probably for some the reasons you listed. Somebody in KY matched 5 + 0 in PB and the lottery said they would give the store location after verifying where the ticket was
