Help with Odds Math - Excel maybe?
Hi Everyone; I am trying to figure a way to produce the odds for wheeled combinations and not sure how to do it (I am not a math genius) and was wondering if anyone has done this before etc... my efforts searching the forums have not so far been productive. I have found the Odds Calculator here on the site and this works well but I am looking for more etc.. About 30 years ago I bought a little kit for lotto play and inside it, there was a simple chart... What I want to do is make a

Definitively proving better odds on straight picks
THANK YOU! I wasn't sure what to expect after my first 'real' post, but I didn't expect only two, and one that was definitely not positive. I'm not offended though, after all I'm a noob. I've only been studying my state's lottery numbers for a year. You've both apparently have been over ten! jackpotismine: Oh boy. Here comes someone trying to sell you something. I *wish* I had something *good* to sell! But I assure you, I have nothing, yet anyway. :/ I'm just a programmer who has been sna

New Mexico Lottery was advertising the wrong Pick 4 payouts and odds
A heads-up for all New Mexico Lottery players: I have been contacted by the New Mexico Lottery, telling us that the payout amount and odds we have been showing on our Pick 4 payouts pages is wrong for that game. They provided a link to their Pick 4 information page, and indeed it shows only $1 for a payout (instead of $28 that we have been publishing) and odds of 1 in 51 instead of 1 in 50 that we have been publishing. I was suspicious about this, because we don't make up payouts and odds

Why are American lotteries rigged?
Current Australia Powerball lottery jackpot: $3,000,000 AUD (appx: $2.2 million USD). Odds 1:76,767,600. Recent jackpot wins: June 23 TY; $3 million - 1 winner June 16 TY; $6 million - 2 winners June 02 TY; $6 million - 1 winner Winners and jackpots patterned accordingly, with occasional abnormalities. I do not see 14 people recently sharing a single jackpot in the Australian Powerball lotto. If indeed this were to happen each would receive approximately $428,000 AUD based on a $

The "Holy Grail"
Hi everyone! I ve been a student of using mathematics-based Strategies to play the lottery for close to 10 years now. I ve tried a few and simulated many, but I ve never found what I consider to be the Holy Grail . At this point I m thinking that either I haven t stumbled onto it yet, or my expectations relative to the Holy Grail are not achievable. The Holy Grail I refer to is this: identify a Strategy that hits at a rate significantly greater than that you would expect based on the numbe

Input Playing the Various 6-49 Games
I decided to bring this back to get a few questions answered ... I can only figure that there might not be much interest in a 6/49 game ... people would rather put their money on the MM and PB for the larger jackpots. As I have lost interest in the larger harder to hit jackpot games, over the last year I have paid more attention to the 6/49 game in PA ... slowly moving more money over to play that game. I said earlier that I had spent some time on the computer checking out other various st

The new odds for Mega Millions have been a failure!
The new odds for Mega Millions have been a failure. They promised higher jackpots more often. We can't even get to our first billion! The Mega Millions commission didn't go high enough on the odds. It takes well over 20 draws to get the jackpot in the 1 - 2 billion range. Considering 104 draws a year you need a winner every 26 draws(3 months). With 4 winners a year take home would be 4 - 8 billion a year. 4 different winning tickets could be worth up to 600 million EACH after all taxes are pa

Iowa and Minnesota lotteries kick off new multi-state game
I was curious why someone would play this new game with horrible odds if they lived in Iowa and could play Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game which was a daily game and top prize odds were about 6 times better. So I went to Iowa lottery website and saw to my disbelief that they stopped offering Cash 5 in Jan 25, 2014. Below were the odds of the discontinued Iowa's $100,000 Cash Game. I hope Iowa people reject the new game or else other states follow suit and discontinue their Cash 5 type games in favor o
