Dozens of 'dead people' collected NJ lottery prizes last year
You might want to read the article, which clearly says that it happens with prizes of $600 or more. In NJ, and most other states, anything over $600 has to be claimed at a lottery office. It shouldn't be that hard for a state agency to make sure that a winner is correctly identified, in which case an incorrect social security number won't be a big problem. When they find out the withholdings were credited to the wrong person, they should know the identity of the person who gave them the wrong

Dozens of 'dead people' collected NJ lottery prizes last year
Ghosting is a form of identity theft in which someone steals the identity, and sometimes even the role within society, of a specific dead person (the ghost ) who is not widely known to be deceased. Usually, the person who steals this identity (the ghoster ) is roughly the same age that the ghost would have been if still alive, so that any documents citing the birthdate of the ghost will not be conspicuously incorrect if appropriated by the thief now claiming to be that person. The use of c

It's time the lottery needs to stop releasing a person name and picture when a big win is won!
Don't put words in my mouth and I'm particularly offended by your dishonest misrepresentation of what I wrote. You don't care about fraud, just as long as you want to protect against something that hasn't happened in over half a century and not even in this hemisphere. Yeah, that's a good idea and exactly the kind of emotional argument and hyperbole I was talking about. You're the first strawman drama queen I think I've ever seen on the 'net. You've sure changed your tune in just a matter of a f

Will a lotto win bring happiness or satisfaction in your life.
This. I've got happiness. Satisfaction.. yes, but not where cost of living is concerned. There's a lot I worry about now and in the future that centers around money. To take that burden away is what a lottery win would do for me. I've got plenty of 'things'. I don't have financial security. I'd like for my children to not have to worry about finances either. Or my siblings. To take away those worries would bring more happiness into my life.

Will a lotto win bring happiness or satisfaction in your life.
That's my view. Those people who can't find happiness and satisfaction with a boatload of money have never been broke. Being able to pay for top-notch healthcare, education, being able to empathize with those who have nothing but be in a position to change their lives, having the freedom to do what you want (and love) every single day and not what you have to...oh yes, don't be fooled, money can buy happiness. The happiness isn't in the money itself, it's that it allows you to do and accompli

Will a lotto win bring happiness or satisfaction in your life.
Let me win so I can find out! I am thinking satisfaction. There is more happiness in helping others. Helping family, friends, church, wounded military and some feel good paying it forwards. My wants and needs have changed dramatically since getting older. A definite move, one new car, maybe a truck for hauling plants/ gardening, living off the grid, having some land, security and peace and quiet and some travel. Sounds like a perfect life being low key. Net $185 mil. Is an awful lot of mon

China's beloved national lottery suspected of massive fraud
No surprise, it's the same government that kept their Olympic workers in diapers to put on the show, remember? come to think of it, would you really want to win money from that group and expect to get paid? Gleno mentioned being surprised to find out China has a lottery, kind of is confusing for a communist country. Castro's first move when he knew he ran Batista out was to shoot up the casinos. When there was a Yugoslavia they had a casino in Dubrovnik and in Vegas we joked about

MegaMillions is ready to be won again
Now, what has that got to do with anything? The ticket was bought as a quick-pick at a store, it wasn't manipulated by this individual, so therefore it wasn't rigged. He was security and their rules are as such. NO MUSL employee can buy Lottery tickets. What he did was unethical, but the Lottery wasn't rigged...

He did just that, but you are as they say retarded and need to re read article ! The ticket was INVALID since it was bought by person WORKING FOR THE LOTTERY and that is ILLEGAL. The security guy for 16million bucks took a chance to try and outsmart the syztem.I may have done the same. At least he got lucky with the winning ticket but could not cash it...that's so crazy

Can I use my Microsoft Office macros? The OpenOffice.org macros are written in OpenOffice.org BASIC, a macro language that uses the same programming logic as Microsoft Visual Basic. However, some elements differ, as for example the calls to software commands and object names. So you would have to rewrite the macros. Macros written for MS Word for instance cannot be executed via OpenOffice.org; you'll need to re-write them. This has its benefits - it makes OOo documents less virus prone.
