I bought two tickets and won zippo on the raffle. Midday number for today was 401. Son of a...!!!! I had 101 for 5 dollars straight and one dollar two way!

The only way this would probably work is by creating some sort of raffle tickets like many states already have. Considering most of the games are ball/computer driven there usually isnt that many winners and thats why it is usually won by a single person or a couple people. The lottery commision cant control how many people win. It would be nice, but if only 1 or 2 people hit the exact #s what are they supposed to do? They cant split it to the 2nd place winners....

Colorado recently held it's first raffle which is a good example. They sold 280,000 tix @ $20 each. There were 2 $1 million dollar prizes offered, so the odds for 1 ticket were 1/140,000 to win the million. Then there were 3 $100,000 prizes, 5 $10,000, and 500 $1000 winners. All the tix were numbered from 000001 to 280000 and they draw the winners from those numbers.

You're comparing the state of Idaho to Florida, which has a population that is several multiples higher?? Do you understand how raffles work? A $1 million prize for an Idaho raffle is excellent.

PA Millionaire Raffle lottery tickets on sale todayReply
The only nearby state is Rhode Island. They have the Million Dollar Raffle, on January 1. Tickets are $20 each. If purchased early, the ticket is also entered into a bonus Early Bird drawing, with a $5,000 prize.

Are most states offering something similar to the PA raffle? In Connecticut there is something called the Million Dollar Super Draw which is a similar idea with a drawing on January 1 but the terms are different. I travel to PA often, so it looks like I'll be able to buy tickets for both : ) I wonder if other states that I travel to have similar offerings - I am a truck driver. I also travel to MA, NY, NJ, NH and Maine.

when the big drawings (mega or powerball) are up to 200 million or more, i have been known to do $100 or more on my own, plus $20 or more for an office pool. (years ago - i have wised up since then) and my average return rate on $100 worth of a big jackpot tickets is less than 10%. those stupid illinois raffle tickets, the first one in particular - i did $200 on, didn't win a single thing.
