DELAWARE LOTTERY...HAS IT BEEN HACKED. THEY ARE UNABLE TO POST WINNING NUMBERS
For several days now the Delaware Lottery has not been able to post the winning numbers on the website for hours. The numbers are not available on the phone line either. The PB and Lotto America results and the Mega results also are not up to date. They are running a continuous message across the screen about the problem, but are not giving any reasons for the problem. The results after each drawing are available at the retailers and no problem with ticket sales, so that must be a separate syste

Lucky For Life to Millionaire For Life - $5 Ticket
It would be interesting to see how many States that currently offer Lucky For Life or Cash4Life will drop out and not offer the Millionaire For Life game.
Not sure what that would mean, either the $5 price is not appealing to them or maybe the distribution from sales for worthy causes or something else.

$1.5 BILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot fuels rush for tickets
The Poisson distribution giving the probability of various numbers of winners, based on the anticipated sales figures estimated at the Texas Lottery website, $311,928,188, is as follows:
k, number of winners p(m,k)
0 57.40%
1 31.86%
2 8.84%
3 1.64%
4 0.23%
5 0.03%
6 0.00%
If sales exceed the estimate, the probability of a rollover, 0 winners, will go down, and the probability of each number winners will go up. The probabilities of six or more winn

$1.5 BILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot fuels rush for tickets
I hope it actually gets to $3 Billion so when I or someone hit it we can literally see someone walk away as a billionaire after cash option and taxes.
It's not impossible, but it's going to take a lot more than $3 billion for that to happen unless interest rates go way down. Even if interest rates go way down it will still take the same amount of cash, and the same number of tickets without producing a winner sooner. With the current interest rate you'd net about 29% of the annuity value af

$1.25 BILLION: Epic Powerball winless streak marches on
The Poisson distribution for the probability for various numbers of winners, based on the estimated sales posted on the Texas Lottery website, $166,593,667, is as follows:
k, number of winners p(m,k)
0 74.34%
1 22.04%
2 3.27%
3 0.32%
4 0.02%
5 0.00%
Sales of course, may ultimately be higher, in which case, the probability of a single winner or multiple winners at each level will go up and the probability of no winner, 0, will go down.

What's earnings value ? Never heard that term used when discussing or reading about the lottery.
Are you talking about earnings value from a players perspective or the lottery's perspective as it relates to running their business? Reduced jackpots are a direct result of reduced ticket sales. It's very hard for me to see how the Fla Lottery gets higher earnings value when they aren't selling as many FF5 tickets as they used to. G5

$1.25 BILLION: Epic Powerball winless streak marches on
I think there will be multiple winners.
As long as they've sold two or more tickets there's a chance of multiple winners, but the chance is pretty low until sales get pretty big. Actual sales will be higher, but the initial estimate is for about 77.25 million tickets. For that many tickets, if they were all chosen randomly, the chance of any number of winners is 23.23%. The chance of a single winner is 22.21% so if the jackpot is hit there's a 95.6% chance of a single winner. There's a 2.68

Florida's Fantasy 5
I'm sure they did it thinking it would increase sales but really it backfired. For some reason it split the players between midday and evening reducing that evening jackpot. I usually only play 2 sets (one set I've been playing for 20+ years) so I play both draws.
Good Luck, Chris
