Keno: The Next Big Bet For The N.H. Lottery?
On a recent afternoon at the Common Grounds Cafe, 200 yards from the New Hampshire border in Methuen, Mass, a handful of men sit along a short counter or at several tables in the back of the cafe.
Eyes moving back and forth from their pink and white betting slips to two wall-mounted video monitors, they wait for the next drawing of a popular electronic lottery game called Keno.
We've got some regulars who come in almost every day, said Shane Bernard, who runs the cafe with his parents. An

Penn. Lottery contributions decline for first time in 6 years
Lottery Not Blaming Slots for Flat Sales
Pennsylvania's lottery sales stumbled in the just-ended fiscal year as slot machines came on line finishing flat after a half-decade of huge gains spurred by bigger games, more retailers and glitzier advertising.
After subtracting expenses, commissions and prize money, the lottery contributed less money to state coffers than the prior year for the first time since 2001.
State lottery officials insisted the arrival of slot-machine gambling in

Lottery sales in Pa. hit record $3 billion
Pennsylvania Lottery sales for the 2005-06 fiscal year reached a record $3.07 billion, Gov. Rendell said yesterday.
Sales grew by $425 million, the largest dollar increase in the lottery's 34-year history, leaving the agency with a $400 million surplus. The state will use half that money to expand property-tax and rent-rebate programs for senior citizens, said Stephanie Weyant, a spokeswoman for the state Revenue Department.
The expanded rebates will go out in 2007 to pay for the 2006 tax

Lottery industry facing new threat in 'skill' games
State lotteries are grappling with the rapid spread of unregulated skill gaming machines, which are found in convenience stores, bars, restaurants and taverns across the country.
While these machines have existed for some time, their manufacturers and operators have become increasingly aggressive in their roll out strategy, placing these machines in the front of stores and even replacing lottery self-service terminals with them. Individual lotteries predict these machines could reduce their r

464 gaming machines seized in S.C.
Businesses say despite payouts, games aren't illegal gambling
South Carolina authorities seized 464 gaming machines and computers Thursday from 13 York County businesses accused of hosting illegal gambling just over the N.C. state line.
Drawing attention were an increasing number of Internet cafes where customers played video slots with prepaid cards. Business owners defended them as legal sweepstakes. Authorities, however, said the cafes, which pay out money to winners, are thinly veile

Win Your Lottery by Lotto-Logix Is Now Available Again
In 2008 I wrote Win Your Lottery by Lotto-Logix, procured hosting
and set it up as both a website and compiled it into an ebook.
The case was built around three lottery software titles, Advanced
Lotto Tool, Lottery Director and Lotwin, sadly the first two are no
longer with us.
Up until a few years ago Advanced Lotto Tool was still offered as a
download trial, but could not be purchased. The software was
authored in Croatia that was undergoing various actions of war.

Keno RNG
Following is an interesting discussion about Keno RNG from the Yahoo Keno Forum:
Ive been spending a lot of time researching these video keno
machines and the supposed RNG's they have in them and here's a few
things iv'e discovered about how an RNG really works (and its not

Record Mass. Lottery sales, despite high fuel prices
Bob Hurtubise mused Thursday about what he would do if he hit it big on a Lottery game.
The Ashburnham, Massachusetts, resident would buy a nice house and secure savings for his kids, he said.
I'll play a quick pick on big number games, Hurtubise said. But I'll just play one. If you're doing any more than that, you're just making donations.
Now that gas prices have reached nearly $3 per gallon, he guessed more people will hold onto their cash for other expenses.
That money's
