@GiveFive You're absolutely right. When I lived in NYC 16 years ago, the Take 5 game was worth playing. Never won the jackpot either. You are better off playing Pick 3 or Pick 4 (they have better odds). I said it before that the Day and Night draws would lower the prizes so much that it wouldn't be worth playing the game. They need to just cancel the game and start a new one with better prizes.

Nice win! I have looked at the odds of that game vs: L for L and they are harder and the prizes are smaller, but at least it is still a ball drawn game. Of course it is also everyday at $2 a ticket which I don't like as a self picker. It is costly to play everyday like L for L. Maryland is a good state to play in I think since it is 100% legit with real draws. Ten miles is as close as I can get though, so can't play often.

Hmmm what are the odds of a 79 pair repeat. 796 is High-High-High (HHH). I'm not feeling a back to back HHH combo. Right about 79 pair repeat and wrong about the HHH combo repeat. Guess I'll go see what's going on in NC.

Hey Gatorsrok thanks much. Knowing your awareness and appreciation of potential differences among winning tickets within a given game I'll just say I was very surprised to get a single number match win like this, as nearly all $500 wins and higher on the 500X involve one or more multiplier symbols. This particular $5K ticket is one of 351 total across a game order consisting of nearly 43 million tickets...odds a little north of 1/120,000... For sure hope you've been doing well.

Nice analytics, Downtoclaimtown, and yeah getting this info here in FL used to be a lot more complex before the Lotto a couple years ago, fortunately, started posting on their website the avail prizes and odds for all prize levels. I only wish they'd decrement avail prizes for ones they know will not be sold (like partial books returned, lost/stolen tickets/books, etc.) You're right about prize geography being complex, esp areas that have sizable populations but are heavy urban vs suburban. Number 23 is my personal odds on favorite for Top Hitter of The Year honors. We'll soon see where it stands on 3/31/2022. It's currently at 14 hits, and my guess is that it'll hit four more times this month taking it to 18 hits on 3/31/2022. If that happens it's pretty much a lock for Top Hitter of 2022.
