Hi Oldghost, and everyone, I finally got around to getting a report and running a scenario on the new $500 Madness (Game 1454). So, here's what the numbers look like given an estimated starting pool count of 536. I arrived at this starting point by simply taking the current $10 Blow-out initial release and multiplying by four. I guess we'll see if the Lotto will delay the release of the new game and the other ones given everything going on. Either way, if this starting pool estimate holds

Now that we're all quarantined, here's a silly lottery puzzle to pass the time. Suppose your state lottery conducts Pick 3 drawings with real balls in three bins -- each bin has ten balls numbered 0 to 9, standard stuff. For each drawing, the balls are drawn out of the bins by hand by an employee who is not too bright. When he draws a ball out of Bin 1, he writes down the number, but puts that ball into Bin 2. Odds for playing 6 digits in each position for pick-4 is 1 in 10,000/1296=7.71 if selecting the digits at random. I thought this might work better than the Hi/Low tool, at least with this option we have the option of mixing hi and low digits within the same position. RL

I worked it out for Florida Fantasy 5 which is a 36 ball game. Works out to 2427128628125/1369923289168896 exactly on Wolfram A, which is about 0.001772, or about odds of 1 in 564. It is an interesting problem, but if I got such a ticket I honestly wouldn't even notice if the first digits were 12345 unless they were in exact order. Im surprised this phenomenon in the 39 ball abd 36 ball games is more likely than hitting straight in Pick 3. But if you up it to 42 balls the probability is ab

Hi Brock, good to see ya break the seal with the new game, even if it was straight money back! Aggravating results for sure on those 2 tickets, SweetRed83$, hope that things pick up if you end up trying more! All, I will add I think for this new game Lotto has the $100 win odds wrong on their site. As I write this they list 1/212 and my calculations have that value at 1/21...sloppy if that's indeed an error on their part...

Yea paul762, That idea has crossed my mind,.. but the amount of attention and time to such an idea, makes it somewhat costly beyond the price of my tickets, which I try to keep under control... But, when I do hit a significant win amount, that idea wouldn't be as great a concern, as it would be before a significant windfall..
