Do some number combinations have better odds?
Nope no need to justify it. Some people find it fun. That's why I sometimes play, purely for fun (and the potential to win a jackpot, which is the fun part.) I was just trying to explain that you cannot change the odds (since Ronnie kept quoting asinine numbers as his odds) and you seem to know that. This last statement proves that you understand that you cannot beat the game mathemetically. I'd think that you should understand that your bets never have a better chance of winning than an

Ny Win4 Vs. Take5
Comparing the odds of the two games, I see lowest Win4 prize of $2600(s/b) on 1:10,000; that is 3.8 of odds. Take5's 1:575757 payes on average $50k(stated $55k). That is 11.5 of the odds. Pretty bad, considering taxes, and a possibility of splitting the jackpot, often below $30k each. Furthermore, 2nd prize of 1:3387 payes way below $890. Taxes above $601 are taken out as well. Not even 3rd place of 1:103 payes 1/4 odds. Thus, if I play only 0.50 box in Win4, I never pay taxes on winnin

Do some number combinations have better odds?
There you go putting words in my mouth again. Of course it can be won by anyone. My point is that nobody gets better odds than anyone else. You are seriously, seriously twisting my words around. And you admit that there is no proof, no methodology, nothing intelligent that you are doing. YOU JUST GOT LUCKY in a game without any money on it. That's not proof that you have better odds. If you seriously think that's what it means, get over yourself. You're not special when you buy l

Who has better odds of hitting 3 of 5 ?
LOL. so I'm going to jump in and play a little semantics game really quick (this isn't an attack, just a semantical note lol). So the reality is, all the numbers have the exact same OODS of hitting in any drawing. The QP's don't have better odds, they have a better statiscal win history. That does not mean that the best numbers to play are QP's. Actually you could argue that QP's hit the most because the most people play them. All this is indicative of is the natural order of the randomness. In

looking for advice on this ticket and its odds- strategy??
hoops78 wrote: ``I spoke to a lottery representative and she kindly gave me all of the numbers on the 20$ lucky times 20 ticket.`` Not really. She might have given you all the numbers she knows. But they are deficient in some obvious details. There must be a lot of remaining wins for the $20, $25, $50 and $100 prizes is not sufficient. Also note that the odds 1:3.89 are for the outset of the game. (I assume you are talking about the Rhode Island game #321.) It may or may not be the curr

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Glad you asked RJ, I think it is without doubt that the (God given) creative ability of the human spirit can easily overcome ANY odds and can also do much much better than the stated lottery odds. 3 people out of 7 have already hit 5+0 and we have only been playing for a total of 10 draws. What a surprise, Stack discovered a group of 28 numbers that hit 8 TIMES IN A ROW. If a person captured just a few of those wins in a row, it would blow away the odds as only One in 39 is needed to

When Do the Powerball Odds Tip?
MM had three drawings when the amount of tickets sales exceeded the number of combos so all three could be considered must win jackpots. But on one of those drawings, March 27, 2012 when 191 million tickets were sold, nobody won the jackpot. The next drawing on March 30, a record 652 tickets were sold and there were three winning tickets. When the jackpot becomes a must win , the odds of winning changes from the odds of one ticket to the number of chances to the odds of one ticket to the tota

PowerBall finally may has the edge it's been seeking
Ive heard that the overall odds are the same argument 100 times. I just think there is a way to crack the code and this may be a good place to start. My theory is 1 line with all bonus balls gives that line TRUE 3.9 million to 1 odds. Where 46 random lines gives 175 million to 1 on each line separately, so even if you play 100 random lines you odds are still 175 million to one. Just like a slot jackpot that's 1500 to 1 odds. Even if you play 3000 times your odds on the next pull are still

compterized fraud
I remember getting a note recently from someone who said they were trying to calculate lottery odds that included all the drawings that nobody hits, up until someone finally hits. I tried to explain that the odds don't work that way, and that the concept of odds spread across multiple drawings is something he fabricated out of thin air. I have no idea if this is the same person that I responded to, but it sure sounds like it. His concept is like saying that if I flip a coin 5 times and it

Take5 isnt fair
That is the reason why I play almost exclusively the 3-ball and the 4-ball. In most states, the prize is half the odds. In Mega Millions, the odds of matching 4+0 are around 1 in 15,000 (greater than the odds of winning the top prize playing 4-ball), but the prize is only $150 (less than the prize of winning a 3-way box playing 3-ball). I feel that Mega Millions should be paying out at least $5000 for this. Virginia's new Decades of Dollars game isn't too bad, with Match 5 odds 1
