The power of power play
I powerplay and megaply because I play as much for 2nd prize as I do for the jackpot.
Why? Well, at my age, second prize is RETIREMENT MONEY. And the odds are better than my state lotto game.
And......the extra $4 a week is chump change.

Mega is $45 mil & Powerball is $40 mil. Will you be in it?
You got to be In It to Win It!
You've got to be in it to lose, which you probably will. Each ticket gives you the same chance of winning whether the jackpot is $40 million or $1537 million.
Easy Money!!
You must not know what the odds are.

Whats up with the Lucky Ball in Lucky for Life?
Do you play QP's or do you pick your own numbers? I have played LFL for about 5 years now and feel like I'm wasting time trying to find a pattern. I always play my own numbers and feel like I probably have a better shot doing so rather than just playing OP's, although the odds of winning are still very high...and forget trying to figure out a pattern on the lucky ball...once you think you have that figured out you're proven wrong.
I tell my daughter I think their program identifies matching

$750 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges to 4th-largest ever
Dude what are you talking about the person I responded to asked:
So here's a question: If you had the psychic abilities to foresee the right set of numbers for any lottery, which would you choose; A huge jackpot like this one, or a more humble jackpot, like a state lottery prize, but still enough to make you comfortably rich for the rest of your life? Let's limit the question so that the psychic ability can only be used one time in your life, lol
Which was why I said I wanted to win $40 mi

$750 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges to 4th-largest ever
This is from the MM site:
Most states offer a Megaplier feature to increase non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4 or 5 times; it costs an additional $1 per play. Before each Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday and Friday nights, the Megaplier is drawn. From a pool of 15 balls, five are marked with 2X, six with 3X, three with 4X and one with 5X. This mix results in the following odds for each of the Megaplier numbers and their associated prize values:
I don't know where the $423,000 amount comes from,

Post your scratch ticket results
I have not been playing much lately and dont find the new Illinois games all that appealing
Smaller jackpots then before and worse odds. Take at look at how 100x game went from winning $4,000,000 to now just winning $2,000,000 as grand prize. Most of the grand prizes have been halved or decreased across board.
Some games are just outright putrid IMO liek the $20 game with top prize of $1,000
The scratch off scandals and crappy selection newer tickets has decreased my interest in scratch

Gail Howard's Smart Luck Lottery system users
Hi,
Have not tired Gail's guide but I am using a similar wheeling system and it does increase the odds as you can choose more numbers to and get the combinations, for as long as you have some winning numbers in the combo you could win some prizes.

$1 BILLION MEGA MILLIONS LOTTERY DRAWING TONIGHT
Technically, even if a single ticket wins, the person will not actually be a billionaire. If claimed as annual payments, one's net worth would only reflect the actual annual payment received. So that person won't make Forbes billionaire list. If claimed in a lump sum, $565M pre-tax is far short of $1.0 Billion, and will be even less after Uncle Sam takes his cut.
So play if you just like to play. But don't play just because the jackpot amount is higher than usual. The odds never change. Also,

$868 MILLION: Mega lottery jackpot set for Friday
Between the nation's two largest lotteries, there's over $1 billion in jackpot money up for grabs. The odds of hitting all winning numbers in either game? Pretty bad.
For the $868 million Mega Million jackpot which marks the game's first-largest top prize ever your chance of winning is 1 in 302.6 million. For Powerball's $345 million top prize, it's 1 in 292 million.
The chance of winning both is at least 1 in 88 quadrillion. That's 88 followed by 15 zeros.

$667 MILLION: Biggest Mega Millions jackpot ever
Almost?
It's a big jackpot, but it's still not a good bet for players. Depending on state taxes let's figure the after tax net is an even $240 million. At odds of 1 in 302 million it will cost players $604 million to collect it. That's an average return of just under 40 cents for every dollar you bet, making the risk to reward ratio a loser. And probability says that the states will collect another $180 million and pocket half without paying out the jackpot.
Of course the $2 cost of a ti
